Too many puzzle pieces. Too many players. And only three days to make a choice. Their life, or yours.
You covered their faces for her. At least that’s what you told yourself. To avoid the annoyance of her sniffling and the stain of tears on the child’s face. An attempt to stop the silent shaking when she should be sleeping. The wails that never left her, but you could see in her wrinkled brow and clenched jaw. It was for her, to keep her quiet as your half rotten group shuffled through the silent halls.
It wasn’t because you kept turning to the barbarian, a snarky quip on your tongue. Or the knight, a barbed word dancing in your throat. Only to find their husks staring blankly at you. They didn’t hear such things anymore. Commands were the only things that made them react. Made them move.
It wasn’t because in the deepest dark their eyes now milky, shone like silver pieces. Like the coins left with the dead for a passage you had stolen from them. Their now slack jawed expressions made your heart clench with something new and unforgivable.
It was all for the girl. For her comfort.
And you didn’t focus on your sudden need to keep her safe, to stop her tears. Or how it was all a distraction from the beast in your heart, chewing at your insides. Filling you with guilt.
Necromancy was only easy when you had never seen their life.
“Pim man. I think you just gotta put the cursed doll back.”
Have a smiling friends doodle :)
Pim found a cursed doll and Mr.Boss is missing……. Or not lol.
In another life, perhaps Pharloom could be rebuilt.
Have a trio of delivery workers navigating the treacherous paths. Was meant to be a quick study with a new brush…..but I got carried away lol
They fought, giving up life and limb to free you from the dungeon. They gave you the sun on your skin, the grass beneath your feet. Freedom from a fate you were destined for. They gave you a mundane life, one that was soft in comparison to the dungeons. They saved you. And yet, all these years later, you couldn’t remember their faces. It didn’t happen suddenly. Just the slow march of time eating at your memories until one day you stumbled into the hole in your recollection. And realized that you couldn’t remember their faces, no matter how hard you tried.
Doodle. I’ve been doing a lot of traditional drawing. Finally picked up the ol’ tablet when inspiration struck. I know the trend might be a bit worn out. But I like it.
You were only going to pickpocket the sour faced necromancer. Just a quick dip in his pockets to snatch the scroll of enlightenment you knew his thin fingers had plucked from a crate. No harm done. You had seen it first after all.
Except when you slipped through the shadows of the library, you found yourself watched. A girl, small and trembling clung to the necromancer as if he were her nanny. She didn’t warn the thin man and she didn’t have to. The spirits that clung to his skin like the stink of death were watching as well. Their gaze held more than a warning. They carried a promise of death, so palpable that your skin crawled.
The necromancer didn’t acknowledge you, his attention remaining firmly on the bookshelf before him. Beside him, the girl shifted anxiously, her wide eyed gaze uncomfortably direct. You slipped back into the shadows, perhaps the knight had something worth snatching.
Happy new year. My funger braincell is shaking itself awake for the yearly replay lol.
I have been in the pit of art block and then a friend showed me the AMAZING designs of @furiouskettle Stuart and Herb. PEAK design omg. Herb’s lil feet are my absolute favorite.
Have a hallway battle. When I was in elementary school I would frequently have nightmares about losing my teeth in the loooong ass hallway in the main wing. No idea why but hallways are nice and scary drawing settings :3
Gunna have to replay Look Outside again soon, the colors and enemy designs are just too fun. Also rat baby. Can’t get enough of rat baby.
*edit 2 fix spelling lol
I REALLY liked the Shepard ant so have more lol. 4 sisters who keep the flock safe. The baby aphids are my favorite.
It would be neat to see the world before ruin. When the sandy outer edges of kingdoms were clean and full of life.
