" Balint Hamvas's new book, CYCLECROSS 2011/2012 tells the story of the 2011/12 'cross season, in words (from gs) and pictures (from Hamvas). The book features all eight legs of the World Cup as well as all Superprestige and GVA trophy races, plus CrossVegas, Scheldecross, Druivencross and the World Championships in Koksijde, Belgium, you also get a sneak peek behind the scenes of cyclocross, as Hamvas spends a day with Bart Wellens in Leuven, and visits the Bioracer factory, where Lars Boom, Niels Albert and Sven Nys get their best threads. Want to win a copy of the book? Well it couldn't be easier. All you have to do is caption the following photo..."

GVA Trofee - Internationale Sluitingsprijs Oostmalle 2012: Marianne Vos in Daphny-style braids!, Photos | Cyclingnews.com
It was Daphny van den Brand’s final race before she retires, so apparently Marianne Vos suggested all the riders wear Daphny-style plaits, in honour of her - such a sweet idea!

1. Marianne Vos (Rabobank), 2. Daphny van den Brand (AA Drink-Leontien.nl), 3. Sanne Cant (Boxx VeldritAcademie)
You may have noticed that I am a massive fan of the photos of Balint Hamvas, aka Cyclephotos.co.uk, and it's all because of tgsgirl that I got into cyclocross in the first place.... so it's super-exciting that they're making a book together, all about the 2011/12 CX season!
You can check out what it will look like here, and you can pre-order it here - it will ship on 31st March, and it will be fantastic! I really recommend this one, with all my heart!
In the absence of Marianne Vos, Daphny Van Den Brand dominated the race and established her lead early on. | GVA Baal - GP Sven Nys 2012 | cyclephotos | mud, sweat and gears
