32?! Really, what could you need that number for?! (Also, I’m tentatively calling it on the conduct issue being about multiple accounts!)

Okay, good, not denying it. But are we going to get an explanation?

A_real:  Is it really needed to have one individual account for each day of the month and one for what I assume are holidays? 

Hahaha. But yeah, I don’t think that’s the reason.

A_real:  Duplicate accounts are of concern when it comes to tracking action across accounts Curious_Cephalopod:  I see

A_real:  Isn’t that a hassle to manage 32 separate accounts? 

Seriously. I ended up with maybe 4 Gaia accounts and that was still too much for me.

New person! And they’ll be easy to quickly refer to because of5 is a very short name. :D

First thought is that of5 refers to being one of a five person cape team, possibly one that calls themselves The Five. It could also be one of 5 siblings. Or... I dunno, super long shot, one of the Chosen who considers there to be 5 Endbringers (the three usual, +Scion and Khepri, maybe?). I doubt that one a lot, though!

Searching for: •  Threads… •  …with the term Multi-trigger or… •  …with the term Grab-Bag or… •  …with the term Cluster-trigger or… •  …with the term Mosaic and the term Powers and… •  …give higher relevance to the term Article and… •  …give higher relevance to the term Science and… •  …ignore capitalization and punctuation and… •  …show topics and replies made within the last year. 

Well. They’re clearly looking into trigger stuff. I image they’re looking into individuals who have triggered multiple times, but they might also or instead be looking into groups of people who triggered around the same time and place. I believe those were theorized to often result in similar powers amongst the group. Further, post-Gold Morning, multiple people triggered in similar times and places and triggered wrong, becoming broken. So of5 could be trying to find out about those more specifically. But I image they’d have search times along the lines of “triggers gone wrong” or something as well, if that were the goal. I’d guess mostly just trying to look into individuals who have more than one power.

Glow-Worm Part 3 Thoughts

Okay, finally finished part 3!

This section, we followed Mangled_Wings, a somewhat abrasive, blunt, show-off-y villain. She debated the amnesty policy, without actually debating the amnesty policy. She met up with our first POV character, a cape whom I assume is a hero, who helped her figure out how to get verified on PHO.Then she met up with our second POV character and some others, and alluded to planning some project, without actually planning anything we got to see.

It was a bit of a lackluster chapter for me. MW wasn’t likeable. I didn’t really agree with anything in the first thread we read. We didn’t actually progress anything or learn anything knew - we already knew that civilians were unhappy and scared and that Cap is planning something with other people. We reinforced that this chapter, but I don’t feel like we really added to it.

Well, onward to the next section, at a later day! Hopefully after having reviewed the Worm Epilogue. Until then.

Yeah. You weren’t there for long at all, and nothing really got established. I’d be feeling kinda annoyed, but maybe this is to be expected for current circumstances.

Hm. I’m not surprised that someone like MW would be trying to show off and appear faster and smarter than they are. I would be worried about working with such a person on this kind of thing, though.

Mangled_Wings: I am at the library.  Something to do with that, I’d think. Strange_Mammal: it doesn’t work that way.  I am 95% sure. Strange_Mammal: there is no need to lie, A Strange_Mammal: the reason for this project is supposed to be we know each other 

Supposed to be so that we know eachother, supposed to be because we already know eachother? I mean, this conversation felt to me that they don’t actually know eachother yet. But clearly, they all got in contact somehow. Obviously, I think they’re planning something villainous, so I doubt this is just a fun, get-to-know-you project. So I’m not really sure how this is “the reason for this project.”

Strange_Mammal: K will find out if she does not already know.  she pays attention to those things Mangled_Wings: If you are 95% sure there is still 5% chance you are wrong.  Assume you are wrong before you get on my bad side.

Wow, never really? It’s hard for me to imagine people in present day who haven’t really used computers before. I guess that explains the new account and unfamiliarity with technology.

Mangled_Wings: I hadn’t. I’m a fast learner.

Hm. Is this related to her power, or just part of her?

It’s Cap, our second POV character! All three POV characters we’ve had so far are showing up in this chapter. That’s cute. ^-^

Anyway. This also brings together known villain MW and Cap, who just paid for a possibly disastrous event while also implying that he already had some people on the job. Are these the people?

Strange_Mammal: it’s A… Strange_Mammal: …we’re using first-letters to stay on down-low… Strange_Mammal: …until we figure out what we’re doing 

Ah. First letters of civilian name? First letters of cape name? First letters of another code name? First letters of team name?

Cap: how long did it take to figure it out, A?

Mangled_Wings: Less than an hour.  Mammal is? 

Oh, the computer use, I guess. This also implies to me that fast learning is part of her power, since that would make the answer to Cap’s question relevant.

So, probably first letter of each individual’s name of some sort.

Feels a little teenager-y, tbh. I remember in my early teenage days on the internet using just my first initial if I wanted to be “bold” and hint at my real name, but was trying to be safe and not actually give away anything about my name. I thought that would be safe enough. xP

Well, that was an interesting little conversation. We found out: how they verify capes for PHO, that you catch more flies with vinegar than with honey, and MW may do something villainous soon. Also that MW isn’t great with people or technology, but we kind of knew that.

Mangled_Wings: A dire inflection, that. Point_Me_@_The_Sky:  0:)  I don’t know if you’re at rest or moving or if you’re open to change, but you catch more flies with honey than vinegar.  Things will go smoother if you don’t call them invertebrates or imbeciles 

I know Point’s trying to help, but I don’t think MW will receive this unsolicited advice well. It’s the kind of thing I’d want to say, but would leave off.

Is that actually true? I haven’t given a lot of thought to the truthhood of that saying. Though, also probably telling that the saying and Point say “catch,” and MW said “kill.”

... after perusing Google for some time (it’s surprisingly hard to find results that aren’t just explaining the aphorism), all the results I could find of people actually trying to catch/trap/kill flies with honey and vinegar had far better results with the vinegar. Well. Learn something new everyday, I guess!
