I still find myself tracing rivers and highways on maps I have traveled. The United States is only growing smaller as I circle the same valleys and peaks. This is the furthest north I have seen the Mississippi River, in Minnesota.

this day wasn’t all sunshine and flowers! I felt irritable for reason’s unknown. we did a lot of walking and even more sweating. in the end, it was all magical and all worth it. I saw fields and fields of sunflowers, some dead and towering still, some smaller, finding their way up to the sun. just like me, just like us as a unit.
