"As much grief as I give the others, Kai's cooking is not bad. It's better than the others, which admittedly is not a very high bar to pass."
Deity raised an eyebrow as she opened Zane’s room.
Hadn’t he just been in here meditating ten minutes ago?
“Okay so out of three hundred or more possibilities…” She leaned on the door frame. “....I’m gonna say a rift swallowed him or he went to get takeout for breakfast.” Nodding to herself and closing the door, she headed into the kitchen and began fixing herself a mug of coffee. “Time to wake up.” Deity mumbled to herself as she decided against adding creamer or sweetener.
Getting lost in her mug, she zoned out at the table while she read the paper.
More of the same.
“Oh! There’s some new puppies at the shelter today! Cole, can we go look?” Deity turned her head to see Cole stumbling into the kitchen.
He paused. “How did you hear me come in?”
“You stumble into the door frame every morning, love.” Deity chuckled and went back to her coffee.
“Have you seen Zane? He’s usually making breakfast by now-”
“You can make your own breakfast.” Deity raises an eyebrow. “But I saw him like..an hour or so ago in his room? Vanished after that I guess.”
“He wh-” Cole stopped, staring at her.
“Incoming, Cole.” She glanced up from her paper.
“What?”
“OH MY GOD, ZANE IS GONE! WHY ARE NONE OF YOU FREAKING OUT?” Jay bolted into the room, barely missing Cole as he came in. “Hello??” He looked between Cole and Deity, waiting for some kind of reaction.
“I know.” Deity took another abnormally calm sip of her coffee.
“Apparently he vanished two hours ago.” Cole huffed. “Deity, how are you not worried?”
“I am, but I’ve also considered the possibility that...maybe he went for a walk. Or went out for take out.” Her hand tightened around the mug as it trembled in her grip.
Cole raises an eyebrow when he sees Deity’s grip shaking. “Oh, oooohhh.” He nudged Jay and pointed to her hand.
Jay watched Deity. “Ohhhh. Gotcha. She IS worried, but she’s trying not to make the ship turn into chaos-”
Kai yawned and made his way into the kitchen. “Sup, you guys waiting for Zane? Not like him to sleep in...want me to make everyone cereal?”
“Cereal? I could make pancakes.” Cole offered, heading to the stove.
“Love, no-” Deity shook her head.
“Yeah, no way, Cole.” Jay crossed his arms, partially blocking his friend from the stove.
Cole pouted. “Oh come on-”
“Besides, do you really think it’s wise to touch Zane’s stove while he’s...sleeping?” Deity turned to face the three of them, chuckling. “He barely lets me cook in here.”
The three were silent for a moment as they pondered, then they nodded.
Cole dropped down into a seat at the table, laying his head on it. “Man, I hope he gets back soon. I’m starving.”
Kai chuckled. “What, gets back from dreamland?” He paused. “Do nindroids dream?”
“Yes, they do.” Deity turned to Cole, poking his arm. “You can make your own breakfast...without the stove. Anyways, I think we should all make our own breakfast, give Zane a day...off…” She stopped when she heard a door inside the ship open, and footsteps.
Lloyd usually slept in.
Nya was in the mech bay.
Who was that?
(( @grumpy-zane ))
Hello, Grumpy Zane Here in the synthetic flesh. Ive managed to throw every other ninja off the bounty today, so no antics will ensue. We are soaring at 500 yards over the sea of sand, and the winds are north north east.
.... I don't know how to drive this thing... how do I get down safely?
Hello, THE Grumpy Zane here.
I have decided that, being grumpy isn’t very healthy for an android like me.
I’ve been taking some lessons in smiling from my good friend Jay, and I would like to share the good sentiment.
Have a wonderful April The First. ^.^
*Grabs the scroll of forbidden spinjiztu* Your pfp,, im terrified
"No, I do not think the scroll will be necessary. I am just smiling after all."
Hey Zane. Jay’s in the closet. In the literal sense.
What did you do, Jay, what guilt weighs on your conscience?
"Now he's being all weird and I think he's out to kill me-"
“So….when did you get realistic teeth?”
"My Dear Friend Deity! I have always had realistic teeth. My father built me with human teeth* after all."
