The texts come in, similar in context, but from very different people. Joey doesn’t see them. The phone illuminates the alleyway, casting eerie shadows across the cracked brickwork surrounding them, as Ryou slaps his face with increasing desperation. The albino’s voice is distant, and sounds like it’s underwater. Why is Ryou underwater? Is he underwater? 

         “Stay with me, Joey! Wake up! Shit!”

One lazy hand, refusing to cooperate, slaps ungracefully against his phone screen. His fingers hurt - they tingle, almost - but the screen registers the texture of skin, and slurs out a response.
