REVIEW
My Wife the Serial Killer by H.J. Garbett
~ Death is in the details…and sometimes the details not planned perfectly can be used to catch a killer.
What I liked: * Fran: social worker, happily married to and loves Gareth, recently moved to their dream family home, had a difficult childhood, has a brother-not-brother, wants a family, is a killer
* Gareth: recently promoted to detective, working hard, trying to prove himself, difficult colleagues, wants a family, loves Fran, learns a lot about himself and develops gumption and spine by the end of the story
* Mep: rescue cat, difficult and complained about but loved by both Fran and Gareth
* Angus: Fran’s brother-not-brother, met Fran in a children’s home, a bit different, loving, supportive, a good man
* Finding out what the motivation was for Fran’s need to murder
* That the thoughts of both Fran and Gareth were shared so I knew what they were thinking and could understand their reasoning even when I didn’t go along with their choices
* Being able to smile from time to time even though the “humor” wasn’t always funny to me
* Reading a new-to-me author that created a different murder mystery for me to read
What I didn’t like: * The three men in Fran’s sites and what put them there
* The police Gareth worked with – didn’t think any of them were worth their pay
* That I couldn’t relate to any of the characters even though I did understand them to a certain degree.
Did I like this book? For the most part
Would I read more by this author? If I liked the synopsis of the story
Thank you to NetGallen and Storm Publishing for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Fran Donoghue has just killed her neighbour. Don’t worry, you’ll agree, he deserved it. Detective Gareth Donoghue has a terrible feeling about his missing neighbour. By the time this is over, that will be the least of his worries… A dark, sharp and hilarious novel about love, marriage, and murder, with an ending you won’t see coming… Gareth certainly didn’t. Perfect for fans of How to Kill Your Family, Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone and Killing Eve.
