When Your Fate changes, would You be ready to pack your Suitcase with your Demons, their new haunted dolls and all of your stuff? And a little something more about Plant Spirits and their Devas.
Honestly, I’m not.
I have absolutely no idea what I would pack if I suddenly had to leave everything behind. And I think that’s where it starts. If your fate changes overnight, you should probably know what is truly essential. I don’t, I guess?
“You’re overthinking it already,” Glasya says with an amused smile. “Take what keeps you alive. The rest can be replaced.” Easy for him to say. So let’s see. Definitely my grimoire. My phone. A bag for my haunted dolls I only recently got. A suitcase... which, unfortunately, I still don’t own. Clothes for different occasions. A handful of crystals, jewellery, stuff from the spirits.
“Candles?” I ask. “Efficiency first. Romance later,” demoness Frennet adds. “Incense?” I try again. “We survive one evening without your dragon blood and dark cinnamon,” Glasya replies with a grin. I sigh. Then reality hits me: the cats, the plants. We’d need a big expensive camping bus.
“And what about us?” Jasper, one of Haagenti’s elites, asks while casually flipping through his grimoire. “There are rather a lot of people travelling with you.” Right, a whole little kingdom. We might actually need two buses.
“So,” I announce, “I’m still working in the so called real world for a little while.” Several heads turn toward me. “Which means every paycheck quietly becomes our escape fund. Please behave yourselves and let me save some money before any of you come up with expensive ideas. You know what I mean...”
“And we still need to decide where we go,” I add.
Glasya simply smiles. “I’ll follow wherever you choose.”
Well... that doesn’t narrow it down.
In the end, someone has to decide, and I honestly don’t think somewhere extremely hot would be a good idea. After watching my plants struggle through this heatwave currently, I think the very first thing we’d need wherever we move is an air conditioner, and that costs money too.
Still, I’m incredibly grateful. During the last few days I spent hours taking care of every single plant, and it looks like everyone survived. And if one didn’t, we still have cuttings and ways to grow it again. No drama. I used to make a huge drama out of losing a plant, but plant spirits and their devas are usually very flexible, yes some have contracts such as with devas to share a vessel for equal benefits. They happily accept a new vessel when they know someone genuinely tried their best.
“That’s the wonderful thing about growth,” Verandantia, one of our plants behind the veil, says softly. “Life rarely ends. It simply begins again somewhere else.” And that’s strangely comforting.
As I’m writing this, I’m sitting in my working room that’s far too hot and wishing I were somewhere else entirely. I felt asleep by the way before I could publish this blog post. Oh well. Anyway... back to the original question:
Leaving because you have to... and leaving because you want to... are two completely different things. For now, our council has reached a decision. We’ll stay a little longer. We’ll work. We’ll save some money. We’ll buy the suitcase. Maybe eventually the bus.
And when fate finally knocks on our door...
Maybe next time, we’ll actually be ready.
Yours,
Doris.
Beeing meditating on Haagenti almost 1 week, hoping I can connect with him.
Also trying to improve my psychic skills in general.

Genny! An old demon lord who got bored and retired. He ran into a feisty young horse girl in the woods who's convinced he's a unicorn and he helps grant her wishes. Turns out horse girls also love violence!
