“Nikki say moment” “Moment” “That’s amazing. Fan moment”
Haasil (2003)
Pata nahi why this feels relevant - 1
This scene from Haasil shows the dark reality of how power actually works. The student leader beats the minister with a slipper. Then reminds him of proof that can destroy everything. The minister stays silent.
Not out of respect. Out of fear. Fear of losing his reputation, his position, his entire career.
Power can make or break a person. But today, media runs on advertising revenue.
And that revenue keeps ministers looking untouchable, all around the world. In this scene, the student leader tells the politician he wants to throw him out of power. The minister admits it would be hard. Because back then, hiding the truth was not this easy.
Today, media buries even a single bad story that could crack that magnificent image.
We all know this. Policies made under pressure from business lobbies. Policies shaped by a single business owner. Policies that serve foreign interests, or simply the leader's own.
The public can read it. Discuss it. Connect the dots. But somehow, people still see the political party as their only shield. A shield built from fear of what the other side might do. Let me remind you that this other side is again a narrative shaped by the politicians and media.
Put your political leanings aside for a moment. Look at what you are actually losing. It is the future of your children. It is the future of children living in your neighborhood. It is the future of that government employee who may not get enough pension to survive his old age. It is you, who will one day pay amounts that exceed your savings, even for the basics.
Because the leader only loves his chair. For him, you are just a number. A number he needs to appear on election day, to press his party symbol. That's all you are to him. That's all.
