I don’t think Nightmare could.

The only thing that held the actual Color back from attempting to do anything physical against Nightmare was because he doesn’t want to risk any negative emotions making NM stronger (same reason why he avoids confronting or fighting against Killer in Stage 2 when NM is nearby), and likely because he’s hyper aware that anything he does or says against Nightmare would likely be dished out against anyone NM holds captive.

Especially Killer.

Meanwhile, “hacked” Color..i highly doubt he’d care about that, considering he killed Papyrus, dragged Undyne by her hair, and tossed Undyne into the Core. He’d probably deliberately antagonize Nightmare and go out of his way to make Nightmare not even want to be near him.
