Online meet ups

Hello everyone

Due to Covid-19 we will be hosting all our meet ups onlina via Zoom in the near future. 

Our next meet up will be Sunday 5 April, 10.30am - 12pm. All are welcome: birthing people, partners, families, etc. 

On this call, we will be talking about how to have a home birth experience in hospital and hope to have a birth story from someone who had a positive hospital experience after planning for a home birth.

We will also be joined by Emma Pickett, a lactation consultant who has been supporting breastfeeding families since 2007. She is chair of the Association of Breastfeeding Mothers who run the National Breastfeeding Helpline with the Breastfeeding Network. She will join the session to talk to us about how to get started with breastfeeding and answer any of your breastfeeding questions. We recommend reading her 99p eBook ‘You’ve got it in you: a positive guide to breastfeeding’

Our monthly meet ups

Our group meets up every month, rain or shine, to share positive birth stories, meet like-minded people and talk all things home birth.

June meet-up

The June meet up will be on Sunday 17 June at Katy's place in Homerton, 10:30 - 12. Email [email protected] for the details.

As always, mamas-to-be are welcome to come alone or with partner, friend, family member, birth partner, or doula, whoever it feels appropriate to bring. Children are also welcome, of course.

The meet-ups are a really good opportunity to ask any questions you have about home birth (especially pools) and to meet other people planning home births in Hackney and nearby.

We really welcome returning birth stories, so if you have a positive recent birth story to share, please drop us a line and then come along. People really appreciate hearing real birth stories at the meet-ups.

May 2018 meet-up

The next meet-up will be at Hilary's place in Stamford Hill on Sunday 13 May, from 10:30am until 12. If you'd like to come, email [email protected] to get the address (it helps us know how many chairs to cram into the living room!).

All mums-to-be are welcome, alone or with partner, birth partner, family, a friend, children too.

We'd love you to come and share your positive home birth story: just drop us a line to let us know you're coming.

Crowdfunder update

Thanks so much to everyone who has already donated to help us buy three more pools for our stock - we're delighted to be more than 75% of the way there. But we still need that last hundred pounds. Even small donations can make a huge difference: if everyone on our mailing list donated a pound, we'd have enough to meet our target and buy a fourth pool too.

Weʼre fundraising £438 to buy three new birth pools. Over the years we've helped hundreds of people have the home birth they dream of.  We have 12 pools in circulation and sometimes they spring a leak and need to be retired. Currently we have more requests for pools than we can accommodate.

We have never asked for money before - we really appreciate your donation to help keep the free pool service running.
