hello!!! can i request an imagine with haechan kinda like they were best friends in the past and then after a long time they meet each other again and he finds you really pretty? love all your writings!!!!! 💗💘💞💕
↬ summary; he put the wrong label on your friendship, just like how the grocery store labeled the aisle incorrectly.
↬ a/n; I thought the photo of hyuck was very nice which was why I used it as a header, but if anyone would like to make a header for this fic, I’ll give you virtual hugs <3 also, this is the FIRST TIME I’m writing an angsty ending so feedback is appreciated :))))
“excuse me.” someone tapped him on the shoulder.
seven year old donghyuck turned around, quizzically looking at you, “what?”
you made a face at his response. “you need to go to the back of the line,” your tone matched his.
“why?” he immediately asked, eyes boring into yours.
you stared back. “‘cause I was here first.”
“who says?”
“I say!” you retorted, crossing your arms.
he snorted, “I was clearly here first, that’s why you’re standing behind me.”
you glared at the boy, “what are you a pig?”
he opened his mouth, but you cut him off, “and, the first person stands on the line. you’re in front of it, so I’m first.”
the clearing of a throat interrupted your argument. the two of you looked at the class know-it-all.
“you guys are both wrong, I’m first.”
“who says?” both you and donghyuck asked.
having caused such a ruckus, the teacher booted the two of you to the back of the line. with a glare aimed at the smug little girl, the both of you followed the teacher’s instruction.
on his way back, donghyuck spotted his friends, giving them a smile. they high-fived and allowed him to stand in front of them in line. you frowned at him, reminding him that ‘you can’t cut,’ before dutifully continuing your lonesome journey to the back of the line. donghyuck chuckled at your sulkily hung head and told his friends to save two spots at the lunch table.
“she’s so annoying,” you mumbled, kicking the nonexistent pebbles on the floor, “she thinks she knows everything.”
“I know right,” the boy agreed, eyebrows raising when you jumped.
upon realizing it was him, your gaze went back down to the floor, “I thought you were up there with your friends.”
“the teacher told me to get to the back of the line,” he lied.
you looked at him for a moment. he simply looked back. you pursed your lips, crossing your arms and turning your head, chin up and away from him, “serves you right!” you then proceeded to march away, following the moving line.
not hearing his footsteps, you peeked behind you. you sighed and fully turned around, placing a hand on your hip.
“are you coming?”
“it’s supposed to be there, not their,” he mumbled to you, reading over your shoulder.
“I’ll fix it when I revise and edit,” you dismissed, continuing to write your draft.
“there’s not supposed to be a comma after you,” he pointed out.
“again, I’ll just fix it when I’m editing,” you told him, thoughts halting because of the boy.
“you know-”
“oh my god, hyuck! just give me these comments when we peer review on thursday!” you exclaimed, glaring at the smirking 10 year old.
“don’t use the lord’s name in vain,” he tsked.
“how cute,” the waitress cooed, setting down the drinks on the table, “are you guys studying together?”
“I wouldn’t say that,” you muttered, annoyance laced in your voice.
the waitress arched a brow, leaning closer to donghyuck. “you like her, don’t you?” she loudly whispered.
he looked at her like she was crazy, not noticing the way your hand froze once the question was asked. “we’re just friends.”
with a slow nod, the waitress looked over at you. she chuckled when you quickly looked down at your paper. “whatever you say,” she shrugged, leaving to go serve other customers in the busy diner.
“what if we drift apart?” you sighed, sipping your juice box as he ate his sandwich on the picnic blanket.
we laughed, ‘we von’t brif abarph.”
you frowned at the boy, “chew your food.”
after a minute of silence, he spoke again. “we won’t drift apart.”
you didn’t say anything. he peered over at you, the loud slurping of the juice box catching his attention.
“I think it’s empty,” he commented, taking another bite of his sandwich.
you pushed his shoulder, “hyuck, be serious! some friend drift away in middle school.”
he rubbed his shoulder, the crushed juice box gripped tightly in your hand. he sighed and leaned back. “life can’t tear us apart,” he looked up at the sky, “and even if they try, I won’t let you go so easily.”
he grinned at you, the muscles moving automatically upon seeing your sparkly gaze on him, “I mean, who else am I supposed to copy answers from?”
you rolled your eyes, “what are friends for, I guess.”
“you are not going to leave me to ride the bus alone on the first day of school!”
donghyuck chuckled at the threat you told him the night before, the words somehow motivating him to get out of bed despite how much his blankets begged him to come back. when he arrived at the bus stop, you were pacing back and forth, eyes frantically looking around.
“the bus doesn’t arrive for another-”
“where have you been?” you cried, hugging him, “I thought I was going to be alone!”
“well, I’m here,” he laughed, patting you on the back reassuringly, “still sleepy, but here nonetheless.”
he listened as you rambled away, nerves floating through your words as the two of you waited for the bus to arrive. you were silent when the bus parked in front of the two of you. he gestured for you to walk in first, and you did, planting down in the window seat. donghyuck yawned, slumping into the seat next to you. he didn’t waste any time, plopping his backpack on the floor next to yours as he leaned his head against your shoulder.
he quietly counted to himself, hoping that he’ll help him fall back asleep. when he got to thirty, he felt your fingers brush through his hair. it caught him off guard, but eventually, he relaxed, continuing to count to sixty before he left to dreamland.
somewhere along the way, he stopped counting. he didn’t need to count, simply waiting until you played with his hair for him to feel relaxed enough to sleep.
“hey, are you two dating?” a brown haired boy asked one morning. donghyuck recognized him, the guy sat two seats behind the bus driver. he believed his name had min in it or something.
however, donghyuck didn’t think much about the boy’s name, choosing to laugh at his question instead. you joined in not a second later. donghyuck stared at the boy like he was the funniest person in the world.
“we’re just friends.”
the guy’s eyes flickered between the two of you suspiciously before he shrugged, “right okay.”
“hey jeno,” he called out waving over to his friend who was actively ignoring him, “jeno, come here! they’re not dating!”
jeno glared at his friend, quickly walking over to him, “why does that matter?”
“because you-” jeno interrupted his friend, sending an apologetic glance at you and donghyuck, “sorry about jaemin, he’s stupid sometimes.”
you waved him off and gave a nod towards donghyuck. “it’s okay, stupid is his middle name.”
donghyuck gave you a side-eye, “I’m not the one who used soap as toothpaste this morning.”
“they’re both green!” you defended.
jeno and jaemin were easily forgotten, left to watch the two of you bicker away.
jaemin snickered in jeno’s ear, “we’re just friends, they say.”
“I know you have it!” renjun yelled, keeping jaemin in a headlock.
“renjun, let jaemin go,” you sighed, setting down your lunch on the table.
“so abusive,” jaemin weeped, clinging onto you once he was out of renjun’s deadly arms.
“we don’t know if he was the one who took your moomin plushie, so calm down,” you told him. however, your words went to waste when jaemin stuck his tongue out at renjun, triggering the boy to lunge at him. you looked over at jeno, hoping he’d stop the fight, but jeno remained unbothered, finishing whatever he was writing.
donghyuck silently sat there, the moonmin plushie hidden in his backpack. he went by unnoticed, his plan succeeding. a subtle, sly smirk rested on his lips, one that no one noticed. no one, but you.
“hyuck,” you called out.
“yeah,” he smiled, feigning an innocent look.
“where’d you hide it?”
“hide what?” he asked, tilting his head.
you gave him a pointed look to which he responded with a shrug, “why are you- hey!”
renjun grabbed donghyuck’s backpack, digging through it like there’s no tomorrow. he lifted the plushie out of the bag, lips lined straight.
“aight, imma head out,” donghyuck coughed, bolting out of the lunch room.
“you’re so dead!” renjun screamed chasing after his friend.
donghyuck slumped against the wall, trying to catch his breath. he was almost successful in framing jaemin for his mischievous act, keyword being almost. he shook his head, your careful eyes popping into his mind.
of course you figured it out, you always did.
“well, we have a month,” jaemin smiled.
“yeah, why don’t we start planning?” jeno suggested.
renjun pulled out his notebook, labeling the page as ‘donghyuck’s a coward - things to do so he’ll pee himself’. And while the three of them were busy brainstorming activities for the group to do before he left, donghyuck couldn’t help but focus on you.
you were silent, mouth sewn shut ever since he dropped the news. you wouldn’t look at him, and after a few minutes of picking at your food, you excused yourself. he trailed after you, spotting you in a squatted position in the field.
“life can’t tear us apart, huh?” you laughed, plucking the dandelion from the ground.
he squatted down next to you, staring at the dandelion twirling in your hand.
“that’s still true.”
“you’re moving, hyuck.” your voice was soft, almost blending in with the whistles of the wind. you crushed the dandelion pedals, the tears starting to prick in your eyes.
he lifted your chin to look up at him. he wiped away the tears, cupping your face.
“hey, hey, you’re going to be fine! you’ve got jeno, jaemin and renjun by your side,” he reassured.
donghyuck pulled you into a hug, the pedals in your hand drifting away in the slight breeze. he watched them slowly land a few feet away from the picnic blanket. his grip tightened, your tears streaming down your face.
“I won’t let you go so easily,” he promised.
donghyuck wished he stuck to those words, but here he was, five years later, with zero attempts to contact you. he touched the chain around his neck, fingers trailing down to the jewel with your birthday engraved in it.
(“you never remember my birthday,” you pouted, “so here’s your reminder!”)
subconsciously, he started to rub it, the fleeting thought that this could magically summon you passed through his mind. he shook his head, ignoring all the unpacked boxes surrounding him and deciding that it was a nice day to go walking.
following the familiar tune, donghyuck walked until he spotted the ice cream truck nearby. just as he was about to stand behind the line, a person cut in front of him. he blinked, shocked that someone, presumably an adult, would cut in front of him for some ice cream. what shocked him more was this unsettling feeling that this girl looked like you.
“excuse me,” he said, tapping the person on the shoulder.
donghyuck couldn’t believe his eyes, even when he recognized that scar on your eyebrow from when he dared you to jump off the swing, teasing you that you didn’t have the guts.
(“you’re bleeding!” he cried, tears effortlessly falling down his face as you cried along with him.)
if he wasn’t so close, he wouldn’t have been able to see it.
“yes?” you asked, tone way politer than it was back in first grade.
donghyuck almost forgot why he even approached you, distracted by how the sun created a halo around you. his heart sped up, maybe you weren’t y/n. he didn’t remember you looking this pretty.
“you need to go to the back of the line,” he finally said.
you furrowed your brows, head tilting. “why…” your voice trailed off, a hint in your voice saying that your question wasn’t applying to what he just said.
he grinned seeing the gears turning in your head. “‘cause I was here first.”
if possible, the sun shone brighter, acting as the lightbulb that went off in your head.
“donghyuck?”
“are you sure you’re free today?” he asked, eyeing the basket in your hand.
you nodded, “yeah. I was planning to enjoy this meal in the park since it’s such a nice day out today.”
“by yourself?” he asked, raising a brow.
“can’t tell if you’re judging me, but yes, by myself.”
“I’m not,” he paused, “intruding on a date with yourself?”
you stopped walking, turning to look to your left like someone was there, “hey y/n, are you okay with this?”
you stepped to the left, looking to your right, “yeah, I’m good, what about you?”
stepping back to the right, you frowned to your left, “I don’t know.” you looked back at donghyuck’s amused eyes, “he hasn’t contacted us in five years, should he really eat lunch with us?”
for the last time, you stepped to the left, “just don’t give him the cake.”
with a nod, you stepped in front of donghyuck, “myself and I think it’s okay.”
“lee donghyuck!” three boys shouted, attracting the attention of the people trying to enjoy a peaceful day at the park.
his eyes widened, looking over at your cheeky smile.
“maybe I lied,” you giggled.
and before he could think about the butterflies that erupted in his stomach when he heard the sound, the aforementioned three boys attacked him with slaps on the backs, words overlapping each other.
“where have you been?”
“you do have a phone, right?”
“why are you avoiding us?”
“did you move back here?”
“are you visiting?”
“guys!” you yelled, catching the attention of the boys, “whoever’s barbecuing might want to check on the food, it’s smelling a bit burnt.”
“and-” you interrupted yourself, laughing at the untold story.
donghyuck didn’t mind, he was busy processing the noise, still not used to the fluttering in his stomach. your laugh resonated in his ears and harmonized with the chirps of the birds. it left him with a stomach full of giddiness.
“it would help if you finished your story,” renjun pointed out, taking a bite of his food.
you waved him off, “I will, I will!”
you continued your tale, recounting countless shenanigans that he missed in the past five years like when jaemin got bombarded with pom poms because he accidentally walked into the girl’s locker room.
(“I guess that’s one way to get their attention,” you laughed.
“it was my first week there! how was I supposed to know they were lying to me?”
“maybe read the signs?” renjun suggested.)
or when jeno had to reject a guy because he slipped a confession letter into the wrong locker.
(“what a heartbreaker,” jaemin tsked, receiving a glare from jeno.
“the letter didn’t even have his name on the paper!”)
or when renjun almost blew up the school during chemistry because he refused to listen to his lab partner.
(“he wanted to impress her,” jeno commented.
“spoiler alert, it failed,” you added.
“she thought I was dumb,” renjun frowned.)
or when you tackled a random stranger, thinking he was the one who pranked you.
“he’s my boyfriend, now.”
did he mishear that?
“right now,” you pouted, plushed beautifully under the sun’s rays, “he’s abroad in europe.”
“he’ll be back in two days, don’t worry,” jaemin reassured you, patting you on the back.
your eyes held all the stars in the galaxy when you talked about pandas, your favorite animal, and donghyuck thought that that was the only time your eyes would ever put the stars to shame.
he was wrong.
as you were spewing out stories about your boyfriend, your eyes made him think that he was looking through a telescope, staring up at the night sky. you held a shy smile, melting donghyuck’s heart to mush.
but then those words echoed in his mind.
he’s my boyfriend.
they swirled in his mind, traveling down his spine and coiling around his heart like a snake. it crushed him, leaving a pool of disappointment in his chest. he shouldn’t be disappointed.
he looked at your practically glowing figure. your cheeks were faint with red, your lips softer than the blanket on your lap, your hands looking too heavy for you to hold, but you weren’t his.
“we’re just friends,” he breathed out, words blending with the wind. they were heavier than he remembered, bitter as he let it rest on his tongue. thankfully, no one heard him. except you, of course.
“did you say something?” you asked him, almost swearing that you saw his mouth move.
he blinked, “what?”
you furrowed your brows, “nothing, I thought you had something to say.”
donghyuck shook his head, heart palpitating with your eyes intensely analyzing him. he took a bite of his food, hoping that you wouldn’t bother him now that he was occupied with chewing. and you did, dropping the topic and continuing on about the adventures you had with jeno, jaemin, renjun and- he doesn’t know your boyfriend’s name.
he scoffed silently to himself, he’ll find out later. he’s bound to hear the guy’s name again, anyway.
donghyuck found it funny how he left the picnic early to get his mind off of you, yet here he was, strolling behind you with the shopping cart filled with various junk foods. it was almost two in the morning, but he couldn’t say no to you, not when he could practically see your cute pout through the phone.
you hopped on the colored tiles scattered on the floor, humming along to some tune playing in your head. your eyes roamed over the sweet treats on the shelves, and he chuckled when you pointed out that the aisle was labeled as spices. donghyuck thought it was unfair that you seemed to shine no matter the time of day, even under the dimly lit grocery store lamps. he sighed, especially under the dimly lit grocery store lamps.
with a gasp, you grabbed a box of cookies from the shelf, waving them in his face. “it’s your favorite cookies!” you teased.
he hated those cookies.
“actually, I’m already going with someone to the dance.”
the girl shook her head, pushing the cookies back to him, “who-”
“you got me cookies?” you squealed, appearing out of nowhere and taking the box of cookies from him.
“actually-” his admirer started, trying to take back the gift from you.
you ignored the girl, ripping opening the box and stuffing one in your mouth.
“thanks hyuck!”
“is she the one your taking to the dance?” the other girl sneered, looking at you with a glare.
he wrapped an arm around your shoulder, smiling fondly at you as you giddily ate the cookies you knew he didn’t like. “well yeah, she’s my girl friend.”
and you looked at him with a mouth full of cookies and cheeks flushed red. you nodded, “yep, he’s my boyfriend.”
he chuckled, his thumb wiping away the crumbs on your face. “you’re not going to leave any cookies for me?” he teased.
while he meant for the label to be platonic (simply a girl who’s a friend), donghyuck knew that his classmate took it romantically. and he almost went along with it, but when jaemin asked him if the two of you were finally dating, he laughed it off. ‘we’re just friends.’ he ignored the discontent in his stomach and how empty it felt when you shrugged off his arm.
regret clouded his mind, forcing another memory into his brain.
“my family is waiting for me in the car,” donghyuck chuckled, your arms locked in place.
“let them wait,” you frowned, words muffled by his shirt.
“I got to get going.”
your grip tightened and you told him three words that he acted like he didn’t hear.
“I love you,” he blurted.
your smile dropped, along with your arms. you stared at him with confused eyes and backed up three steps.
“remember when that girl told me that?” he quickly added, the seed of regret growing, continuously gnawing away at his heart with each second that passed by, “she made a banner and everything.”
silence.
you could see through him, you always did. that made his heart pound even more. you were just staring at him.
“I have a boyfriend.” your voice was level despite the wavering in your eyes and the tense scrunch of your shoulders.
he swallowed, hesitant to speak. “I know.”
donghyuck clenched his jaw, he knew that. he didn’t need another reminder that he was too late. he didn’t need another reminder that he should’ve confessed to you before he left. he didn’t need another reminder that you moved on.
“I...I have to go.”
you left him there, surrounded by boxes of sweet snacks in an aisle labeled as spices.
↬ summary; you drunkenly sing to Donghyuck when you first met him, and he sings the same tune back to you a year later
↬ a/n; so HAPPY HAECHAN DAY,, he deserves all the love in the whole entire universe! and this isn’t as long as we’re just friends (but it’s real close) AND it’s fluffy!! anyways, this is an au where only your soulmate knows the same tune as you (it’s unique to each pair of people who have this mark). please enjoy :))
There was someone trying to break into your house.
Or more so, someone was trying to break into your brother’s house. Your eyes roamed around the room, looking for something you could use as a weapon. Your phone was charging in your room, and, currently, you were binge-watching on the couch.
“I just wanted to enjoy Disney plus,” you muttered to yourself, still salty that your brother has had an account for months and didn’t share this information with you until yesterday. He used some excuse about this being your ‘welcome back’ gift when you asked him why he didn’t tell you about it earlier. You really wanted to watch Ratatouille while you were in France.
You caught sight of the baseball bat your brother kept in the glass case near his other medals and trophies. You snorted at 10 year old Mark’s cheesy grin as he held up his trophy for winning the county spelling bee.
The clicking of the door reminded you of the dangerous situation you were in and you quickly grabbed the bat, hiding under the dining room table.
The door opened.
You tightly clutched onto the bat, your heart pounding loudly in your ears. You heard the criminal wander into the living room, muttering something about ‘who would watch this?’ before he changed the channel.
You fought your instincts to jump the guy right then and there, waiting until he wandered past the dining room table. You stuck out the bat, the criminal tripping and falling to the ground. Jumping out from your hiding spot, you pointed the bat at the groaning stranger.
The words in your throat died, your heart dropping. You pushed his chin with the bat, trying to get a good look at his face. But you didn’t need to see his face to know it was him.
-
“Why didn’t you tell me that someone else, besides you, had access to your house?”
Mark scratched the back of his head, It slipped my mind?”
You rolled your eyes, arms crossed as you looked over at Donghyuck who sat on the couch. His feet were propped up on the coffee table, some show playing on the TV. He laughed obnoxiously.
“So why’s he here? At,” you checked the time, “two in the morning?”
He shrugged, “I don’t know. Sometimes he just randomly visits.”
“Yo, Hyuck!” your brother walked over to him, “why’re you here buddy?”
You trailed after Mark, taking the grocery bags he was holding.
Donghyuck planted his feet on the floor and placed a hand on his chest, jaw dropped as he stared wide-eyed at mark. “You mean,” he paused, “you don’t remember?”
Mark sighed, “It’s two in the morning and I had to do a late night snack run because someone,” he looked over to you who was digging through the grocery bags, “needed snacks to eat while binge-watching.”
You just smiled, opening a chip bag, ignoring the way Donghyuck commented ‘cute’.
Donghyuck tsked, “how could you ever forget something as important as this?”
You looked over at Mark who tiredly shrugged.
“I guess the day I blessed this earth isn’t important,” the boy sighed, dramatically laying down the couch with a hand over his forehead.
“Oh,” Mark tilted his head, “it’s already your birthday? I thought it was in two days.”
“And to think I once called you my best friend,” Donghyuck sighed, turning his head.
You snickered, adding another chip in your mouth. Was he always that dramatic?
(“Excuse me?”
Donghyuck walked towards you with a hand over his eyes and another one reaching forward, swishing back and forth to make sure he didn’t run into anything. You placed a hand on his shoulder, “are you okay?”
He shook his head, “no.”
“Uh, what happened?” you asked, placing down the bottles you were holding.
“I was blinded,” he cried.
“Oh no! How?”
“By your beauty,” he smirked, removing his hand.
You instantly let go of him, lips lined straight. He blinked several times, eyes adjusting to the light.
“Yeah, so I’m going to need your name and phone number for insurance purposes.”)
“I’m sor-”
Donghyuck suddenly sat up, “it’s okay, I know what you can do to make it up to me.”
Mark raised a brow, “oh yeah?”
He nodded, “throw me a surprise party!”
You stifled back your yawn. “Alright, well I had plans to study today, but um,” you gave him a small smile, “since it’s your birthday, we can skip that.”
He shook his head, “it’s okay, don’t let me ruin your education.”
His thoughtful eyes made your stomach flutter, the memory of that night starting to resurface. You nodded, “to the library I guess.”
And in that brief moment when Donghyuck acted serious, you thought that you’d have a peaceful time at the library. You were wrong.
“This is boring,” he complained for the nth time.
“I suggested something different,” you paused your typing, “but you insisted that I not sacrifice my education to make you happy.”
“As long as I’m with you, I’m happy,” he muttered.
(You stared at the boy, unimpressed with his exaggerated gesture.
“Impressive,” he smiled, “I know.”
All you wanted was a distraction, not this guy with his pointy birthday hat. You smacked your lips, picking back up the bottles of alcohol before making your way to the exit.
“Woah, hey, where are you going with my alcohol?” he asked, standing in front of you.
“Your alcohol?”
“I’m the birthday boy,” he smiled, pointing to the ‘birthday boy’ party hat he was wearing, “also known as, the party host.”
“You hosted your own birthday party?”
“Well, my roommate did, but I did buy that alcohol,” he told you, taking the bottles from your hands.
He opened the fridge, “How about some ice cream instead?”
“That doesn’t drown out my memories,” you frowned, reaching for the bottles again.
He shoved a tub of ice cream in your hands, “No, but they give you brain freezes.”
“That doesn’t compare to the pain in my heart,” you scowled, shoving the ice cream back towards him.
He chuckled, “Edgy.”
You rolled your eyes, “I’ll just have the spiked punch.”
“Wait,” he grabbed your wrist, “what about using me as a distraction, instead of, you know, alcohol.”
You actually considered his offer, the word ‘okay’ lingering on your tongue, but it never got the chance to escape.
“Hey, there you are!” some guy shouted, “hiding out in the kitchen, I see.”
The guy smiled at you, “If you don’t mind, I’m going to steal the birthday boy from you for a moment.”
“Looks like you’re needed elsewhere,” you told Donghyuck, making sure to take the bottles from his hands before his friend dragged him away.)
Your heart melted at the way he cutely laid his head down in boredom. “If you don’t distract me, then we can leave here in thirty minutes.”
You fought the urge to smile as he perked up, sitting up and nodding with determination.
However, ten minutes pass and you’re not sure if you can finish up in the time you said you would. In the last hour and a half that the two of you spent at the library, Donghyuck wouldn’t shut up, constantly commenting on everything and anything as he looked through your work. Now, he just stared at you, taking in every little movement.
“Didn’t anyone tell you that staring is rude?”
“I’m just admiring art,” he shrugged.
You didn’t have to look at him to know he gazed at you with the same soft brown eyes from a year ago.
“It’s distracting,” you muttered.
After an excruciating 60 seconds, he turned his attention to his phone.
“When are we going to eat an actual meal?” you asked Donghyuck, choosing not to comment on how he hasn’t let go of your hand ever since the two of you left the library.
His free hand picked up another perfume, “Are you hungry?”
“Yes,” you pouted, patting your stomach.
He chuckled, shaking his head. He leaned towards you, fairly close to your face. Your eyes widened, heart speeding up. After a moment of simply staring into your eyes, he stepped back and placed the perfume back on the shelf.
“That’s not the same one,” he commented.
“What?”
“We looked at all the perfumes in this place, and not one is a match,” he frowned.
“A match for what?”
“To your favorite perfume,” he said, like it was the most obvious thing in the world. He continued walking down the aisle, wandering into the cologne section.
You watched as he continued to sniff around. “Why do you care?”
“Because,” he sprayed another bottle, “I owe you a bottle.”
He remembered?
(You scoffed, shaking the last empty alcohol bottle. “You’re gone already?”
Grumpily, you got up. As you stumbled out of the bathroom, you noticed your ex down the hall, walking towards you.
“Yeah, I'll be back, I gotta use the bathroom,” they called out.
Your eyes widened and you pulled the nearest stranger into the bathroom with you.
“Can I help you?”
You didn’t answer him, taking the drink in his hand and gulping it down. When you finished it, you handed the cup back to him. “Yes, you can get me more.”
Donghyuck shook his head, “I think you’ve had enough.”
“Enough?” you slurred, “I’m still sober!”
“You can’t even walk.”
“Yes, I-” you stumbled after the first step, falling into his arms.
“I rest my case,” he muttered, lifting you up on the sink.
“My mind isn’t...I haven’t forgotten yet,” you mumbled, head lolling to the side.
He stared at you for a moment before opening the medicine cabinet. You watched as he scanned the shelves muttering to himself about what he could use to distract you.
“That’s my favorite perfume!” you excitedly pointed at the unopened pink bottle.
“This?” he handed it to you, amused at the way your eyes lit up like a child opening a present.
“Yeah,” you enthusiastically told him.
Donghyuck closed the medicine cabinet in his bathroom, “Really? My sister bought it to gift to her friend.”
You sadly smiled at the bottle, “I ran out of this two days ago.”
He lifted your chin, “If we ever meet again, I’ll buy you a bottle.”)
You took the bottle of cologne from him and placed it back on the shelf. “I still have some left. Plus, it's your birthday. I should be getting you something.”
He thought for a second, “I guess you could treat me to lunch.”
With that, his hand tightened around yours and he dragged you off to a cafe nearby.
“What did I tell you about staring?” you told him, eyes still focused on the menu.
“Take a picture, it’ll last longer?” he suggested, wiggling his phone.
“Don’t take a picture of me,” you deadpanned.
He smiled, “Too late.” You heard the shutter of the camera and you reached across the table for his phone.
“Delete the picture!”
“You’re going to knock over the drinks!” he warned, causing you to pause.
You frowned, sitting back in your seat. After a moment of you glaring at him, he sighed, “Give me your phone.”
“What, why?” you asked, placing a protective hand over your phone.
“Just, trust me,” he smiled, sticking out his hand.
“You know I don’t trust you, right?”
He sighed, standing up and sitting next to you, grabbing your phone before you could process what’s happening. He held up your phone and basically gave himself a photo-shoot using your phone. You leaned over his shoulder, looking at all the photos that he took.
“Why did you take so many?” you asked, turning to look at him.
He was already looking at you. Your breath hitched when you realized just how close his face was to yours. His lips looked just as soft as you remembered them.
(Maybe it was the way his promise resonated in your ears, or how sincere his eyes looked, or how plush his lips looked, but you had the sudden urge to kiss him. And when the door opened, you were reminded of why you initially pulled Donghyuck inside the bathroom - to hide you.
If he rejected you, that would be your excuse. With that thought in mind, you pressed your lips against Donghyuck’s. Your heart was uncharacteristically beating fast in your chest because Donghyuck didn’t move.
“Oh, uh, sorry,” your ex quickly said, unable to see your face.
Once the door shut, you backed away, “Sorry my-”
He cut you off, cupping your face and pulling you in. You melted into his arms. The kiss was firm and way more addicting when he returned the favor. He tasted like beer, along with a hint of something sweet. One hand cupped your face and the other wrapped around your waist. You slipped your arms around his neck trying, attempting to pull him closer as your need for oxygen grew with each passing second.
He pulled away, admiring the fast breaths that pushed past your swollen lips.
“I think your ex is gone,” he muttered, forehead leaning against yours.
“Who cares about him?” you asked in disbelief, already missing the feeling of his lips on yours.
You leaned in again.)
You cleared your throat, sitting back and taking your phone from him.
“It’s taking up a lot of storage,” you softly scolded, thumb hovering over the trash can.
But you knew deep down inside that you didn’t have the guts to delete the photos.
Everyone cheered as Donghyuck blew the candles.
“To Donghyuck!” Mark giggled, already drunk. You rolled your eyes at your brother who took another shot. Another round of cheers were heard and Mark nudged you, “Aren’t you going to drink?”
“Someone has to take care of you,” you excused, avoiding Donghyuck’s eyes.
He shrugged, taking the shot for you.
You patted his shoulder, “Don’t complain to me in the morning when you’re hung over.”
Your eyes wandered back to the birthday boy, his pointed hat sticking out against everyone else’s. He laughed along with his friends.
You couldn’t get drunk, not when he was here.
(You tugged on his shirt, “Just kiss me.”
Donghyuck hovered above you, “Love, we don’t know each other’s names.”
“y/n,” you quickly said, pulling him down, “your turn.”
He sighed, “Donghyuck-”
You didn’t waste time reconnecting your lips with his. It took all of his willpower to pull away from you, arms extended as he pushed himself up.
You stared at him with a hurt expression, “You don’t want me?”
“No!” he cupped your face, rubbing a thumb over your cheek, “the complete opposite actually.”
“So why-”
“You’re drunk, y/n,” he softly smiled, “and if in the morning, your feelings are the same, I’ll be more than willing to continue where we left off. After I bring you out on a date, of course.”
He sat up. “But right now,” he removed the throw pillows from his bed, “just rest. I’ll get you something to drink.”)
“Aren’t you going to sleep?”
You finished tying another trash bag, “Soon.”
Donghyuck picked up the other two trash bags lying next to you, following you out to the trash bins. Both of you were silent until you got back into the house.
“You can go to sleep, you know,” you nodded towards your brother who was passed out on the couch, “you can sleep in his bed.”
He ignored your suggestion, continuing to help you pick up trash, “You avoided me the whole party.”
“Or maybe you were just having fun with your friends and I was running the party,” you suggested, not looking at him.
“So I didn’t imagine you leaving the room every time I entered?” he asked, pausing to look at you, “or how you suddenly had a conversation with the person next to you every time I smiled at you?”
“Even now, you won’t look at me,” he muttered, going back to picking up trash.
You were silent.
He sighed, “You have something that belongs to me.”
“What?” you stopped what you were doing and looked at him.
“You’re a thief,” he tsked.
You stared at him in confusion. He solemnly glanced at you, “taking my heart and just running away like that?”
You scoffed, rolling your eyes before going back to picking up more trash.
“You swept me off my feet when you sang,” he laughed, “which is amazing because you can not sing.”
(“Hey Hyuck,” you hiccuped, eyes blinking slowly.
“Yeah?” he asked, pulling the blanket over you.
“I didn’t get you a gift.”
He chuckled, “You didn’t even know whose birthday it was.”
“But now I do,” you pouted, “so here’s my birthday gift.”
And you started off humming, before using the word ‘do’ to replace the words of the unknown song. Donghyuck’s heart sped up, the tune buzzing in his ears.
“You might not know it,” you said when you finished, “only my soulmate would.”
He knew the song, he knew it well.
“It broke my heart when they didn’t recognize it,” you closed your eyes, voice quieting down, “I really thought they were the one. They turned out to be a jerk who used me to make their actual soulmate jealous.”
And Donghyuck thanks the heavens up above that your ex wasn’t the one.)
You glared at him, “Thanks.”
He tilted his head, eyes sparkling with adoration, “Don’t worry. Despite the off pitch singing, it still seemed magical, like you and I were the only people there.”
“Weren’t we, though?”
He furrowed his brows, “What?”
“The only people in the room?”
He dropped his shoulders, letting out a loud sigh. “I’m trying to be romantic!” he whined.
You chuckled, the first time that he’s heard you laugh since he saw you a year ago.
“Do you want to know the song?”
You humored the boy, “Okay.”
When he uttered the first note, you instantly knew the song. The various times you mindlessly hummed it passing through your mind. You bit your tongue, opting to listen to his angelic voice rather than join him. He changed the ‘do’s’ into actual words for the last line.
“I couldn’t believe that I fell in love in the city of love,” he looked down at the empty cup in his hand, finishing up the song, “but just as quickly as you appeared, you left. I didn’t even have your number.”
He opened his mouth before closing it, before, again, opening it. He turned to you, “Just an FYI, if you weren’t ready to jump into a relationship, I wouldn’t have forced you.”
(You remembered everything up until the point when he led you to his bedroom, inconveniently forgetting the part where he forced you to sleep rather than take things further. You awoke with a pounding headache, aware of the fact that this wasn’t your room. Donghyuck softly snored next to you, the sun making his skin look ever more beautiful. You brushed the hair away from his eyes, almost tempted to stay with him until he woke up.
But you remembered your broken heart and all the energy you spent while being in a relationship. Last night, you promised yourself that you would take a break, take time to focus on you. I mean, you were in Paris for crying out loud, might as well enjoy it.
You chuckled, it’s not like you guys were soulmates or anything. With one last glance at Donghyuck, you picked up your belongings and walked out the door.
Even you were soulmates, then you guys would meet again, right?)
“I’m sure you would’ve,” you softly smiled.
He nodded, “but you needed a break, huh?”
“You didn’t need to be a rebound, Hyuck.”
He grinned, “I like it when you call me that.”
“Hyuck?” you repeated, “but everyone-”
“You’re not everyone,” he interrupted, “you’re my soulmate.”
You felt giddiness churn in your stomach, “I like it when you call me that.”
And then you gasped, “I never got you a birthday present!”
He laughed, “Out of all the times, you remember now? It’s not even my birthday anymore.”
You pouted, “I’m sorry! I meant to buy one when you weren’t looking, but you were attached to me the whole day. And then at the party, Mark was drunk so I had to make sure everything ran smoothly-”
“Sweetheart,” that nickname made you forget anything else you were going to spout out, “it’s fine. You gave me the best gift yet.”
“I did?”
“Yeah,” he smiled, “you.”
You gave him a ‘really?’ look.
He laughed, “Okay, okay. How about we go on a date tomorrow, or today since it’s like 1 o’ clock?”
You nodded, “Sounds good.”
“Or, we can pick up where we left off,” he winked.

charades was supposed to be fun.
bringing you to meet his other members was supposed to be fun.
which was why you would think that he would be laughing as you told johnny to square up while jaehyun held you back, but he wasn’t.
just an hour ago, you were shyly clinging onto his hand, rambling in the car about how nervous you were. now...
“we make a fantastic team!” you smiled, pure triumph dripping from your words.
everyone rolled their eyes, smiles bit back as they spouted reasons as to why you won.
“you hear what I’m hearing?” jaehyun asked, eyes twinkling at you.
“what, jae?” you wondered, leaning an arm on his shoulder.
donghyuck clenched his jaw. since when did the two of you get on a nickname basis?
jaehyun turned to the group, “excuses.”
the room’s volume rose, voices overlapping one another. amidst the chaos, you noticed that the center of attention was not your boyfriend. donghyuck sat on the couch, arms crossed and lips jutted into a pout. he most certainly thinks that charades is not fun.
“looks like someone is a sore loser,” you teased, sliding into the seat next to him.
he didn’t look at you, “finally decide to spare me some attention, have you?”
you grinned in amusement, his voice thick with irritation.
“y/n, come pick out a movie!” jaehyun called out, waving you over.
you patted your boyfriend’s shoulder, “I’m coming.”
donghyuck watched as you laughed with jaehyun. he clicked his tongue, what was so funny?
noticing the bounce of your boyfriend’s leg in the corner of your eye, you decided on a movie.
“I think we should watch this one.”
‘but that’s really scary,” taeyong frowned.
“which is exactly why we should watch it!”
“you’re not scared?” asked doyoung.
you sighed, “if you guys are going to be such scaredy cats-”
the room filled with clamors of denial and you fought back the urge to smile. after handing the movie to taeil, you made your way back to your pouty boyfriend.
his sharp eyes followed your movements, “you absolutely are terrified of that movie.”
you tilted your head, “oh yeah, that’s right.”
he furrowed his brows in confusion, “then why did you choose it?”
you pulled apart his crossed arms and dragged a blanket out the two of you. “so you can protect me, duh.”

BONUS
“hey guys, I think we’re going to turn in for the night,” donghyuck announced.
“but the movie just barely started,” mark pointed out.
“y/n is getting tired,” he excused.
“but she’s the one who chose the movie,” taeil commented, “unless…”
you raised your brow, “unless…?”
“you’re scared?” jungwoo finished, smiling at you, “there’s nothing wrong with that.”
“if hyuck is failing to protect, my arms are open,” yuta winked.
donghyuck didn’t give you a chance to reply, taking your hand and dragging you to his room.
“why is it such a struggle to spend some alone time with you?” he whined, pulling you into a tight hug, “I’m the one dating you for goodness sake!”

“you’re back early,” you commented, trying to lay as casually as you could on the couch.
yan, your leader, gave a small smile, “yeah, the shoot ended earlier than expected.”
she looked over to you, “wanna go grab something to eat?”
your stomach grumbled in agreement, “sure.”
she nodded, “I’ll go get changed.”
once she entered her room, you rushed towards yours. you gestured for donghyuck to hurry up and get out of here. as quietly as he could, he bolted to the door, barely putting on his shoes before yan called out to you.
“hey y/n.”
you shoved donghyuck out the door and mentally cursed him when you saw his hoodie lying on one of the chairs in the kitchen. you took the hoodie and hid it behind you, “yeah, what’s up?”
yan scrolled through her phone, “I heard there’s a new restaurant two blocks away, wanna eat there?”
you bit the inside of your cheek. donghyuck was supposed to take you there today. “sounds good.”
she looked at you for a second, “actually, I just remembered that I have something today.”
“uh, okay,” you frowned, watching as she finished putting on her shoes.
“just tell me about the restaurant after your date with your boyfriend,” she winked, “and tell him to pipe down on the cologne.”
“wow, you’re so cool!” he cheered, hands cupping his mouth.
you stared harder at yourself in the mirror.
donghyuck pointed excitedly at you, elbowing his non-existent friends, “woah!! Did you see that? y/n moves so smoothly.”
you furrowed your brows, concentrating on keeping a serious face.
“go y/n! go y/n! go, go, go!” donghyuck pumped his fist in the air, continuing to chant your name.
you paused the music and glared at him, “you’re so annoying.”
“what? I’m just being supportive,” he shrugged.
you rolled your eyes and bit back your smile, “you’re making it hard for me to concentrate.”
“was that you concentrating? it looked like you were constipated,” he frowned.
you threw your water bottle at him. he barely managed to dodge it, so you walked over to him and hit him like there’s no tomorrow.
“ow, hey! I’m just saying, you’re going to get wrinkles,” he grabbed onto your wrists, “and plus, you need a break.”
you sighed, “I just need some water.”
he shook his head, keeping his grip on you, “we didn’t visit that restaurant yet.”
he whisked you away from the dance studio and off into an alleyway.
“are you sure we’re in the right place?” you mumbled, inching closer to him.
he glanced at his phone and the surrounding area, “yeah, it looks about right.”
you guys turned the corner, stopping in front of a door with a blinking ‘open’ sign hanging on it. donghyuck smirked at you, “see, I told you.”
your manager cleared her throat, prompting donghyuck to move away from you and to hold the door open. Your manager went to go talk to the hostess and your bodyguard scanned the area while you and donghyuck stood quietly side-by-side.
“I’m sorry,” you frowned, “I tried to tell them.”
he smiled at you, “at least they let you go out with me.”
“I guess.”
your manager and bodyguard were seated a table away from you and donghyuck, allowing a little bit of privacy.
“what do you want to eat?”
you pursed your lips, eyes skimming over all the items. you could feel your mouth water at all the delicious items, but then you remembered, you’re not that hungry, or at least, that’s what you tried to tell yourself.
“anything is fine,” you softly smiled, placing down the menu.
your boyfriend hummed, continuing to flip through the menu before calling over the waiter.
“hyuck, that’s a lot of food,” you told him after the waiter walked away.
he bumped your shoulder, “it’s okay, you haven’t eaten all day.”
you didn’t reply to him, instead, you placed your hands on your stomach. that apple you ate in the morning was enough to suffice.
“to be honest, I don’t think you need to lose weight,” he continued, “I think you’re fine the way you are. and I mean, if you really, really, truly want to lose weight, you could do extra exercises and healthier diets, but you shouldn’t starve yourself for the whole day. you’ve got to be healthy for your comeback.”
he offered you chopsticks, “and I don’t like it when you’re hangry.”
you rolled your eyes, “thanks.”
“it’s not fun to make you mad if you’re already grumpy,” he shrugged, imitating the furrow of your brows.
before you could respond, the waiter came around with all the dishes. you took the chopsticks from donghyuck and held back your smile. he joyously accepted the food, rearranging them on the table and clapping his hands when everything was set.
“don’t let this food go to waste,” he smiled, “I specifically asked your group members what you liked to eat.”
you tilted your head, “what?”
but he didn’t say anything, simply gathering up food on your plate.
“she’s going to kill me,” you chuckled, taking the last bite of your ice cream.
donghyuck laughed, “she’ll probably kill me too.”
you shook your head, remembering how he bumped into the waiter which caused food to spill all over your bodyguard. your manager was in the bathroom during that time and while your bodyguard was getting pestered by the restaurant staff, the two of you bolted out of there.
“hey, can you hold something for me?”
you turned to him, pausing your steps, “yeah, what is it?”
your eyes followed his hand that rummaged away in his pocket. he then smiled, pulling out his clenched fist. you hesitantly opened your hand.
“that’s way better,” he sighed, wrapping his fingers around yours.
“where are you taking me?”
donghyuck uncovered your eyes, “my favorite spot to visit when I’m alone.”
you stood near the edge of the cliff, awestruck by the ocean. the waves calmly flowed back and forth as the moon shimmered from above. the salty, cool breeze wafted through your hair and whispered in your ears.
“hyuck, it’s beautiful.”
“yeah,” he mumbled, looking at you.
you turned to him with an excited smile, “let’s go to the water.” you quickly tapped him before running off.
“did you just tag me?” he yelled after you, hot on your tail.
ankle deep in the water, you replied with a, “maybe.”
“you know we don’t have towels, right?” he warned, watching as you lightly kicked water his way.
“we don’t?” you gasped, splashing water onto him.
“I’m just saying,” he frowned, pushing some water towards you.
you kicked more water towards him as he got closer. with splashes getting bigger, you ran away to shore, hoping for some safety. it didn’t take him long to catch up to you and he carried you bridal style back to the water.
“no, please, hyuck!” you screamed clutching tightly onto him as he walked deeper and deeper into the water. he stopped once he was waist level, and you hid your face in the crook of his neck, eyes tightly closed as you waited to be dropped.
you opened one eye. “please don’t drop me.”
“hmmm,” he thought, pursing his lips.
“I’ll do anything,” you cried.
“anything?”
you didn’t like his tone. “maybe.”
“my arms are getting tired-”
“okay, okay!” you curled yourself closer to him, “what do you want?”
he smirked, “a kiss.”
you blinked. sure, you’ve wondered how soft his lips actually were and if they tasted sweeter than your ice cream, but acting upon it? you swallowed and looked into his eyes. they shimmered with the same curiosity, the same twinkle of anticipation, and you hoped that his heart beat with the same unsteady rhythm as yours.
here goes nothing.
you pecked his lips and he dropped you. not really the response you were expecting, nor hoping for.
donghyuck yelped, arms quickly hoisting you up. his red face glowed in the night as he bashfully smiled at you. you glared at him, stomping back to the cliff. he followed after you, calling your name. you ignored his repeated apologies as he took his jacket and wrapped it around you.
“please look at me.”
you continued to stare at the ocean. he shifted to sit in front of you. you turned your head. he sighed and cupped your face, gently turning your head towards him. even while you were facing him, you avoided his eyes. and, honestly, it wasn’t that hard, especially when his lips were very distracting.
“y/n,” he whispered.
you looked into his eyes.
“I’m sorry,” he pouted.
“you’re so annoying, lee donghyuck.”
you then leaned in and connected your lips with his. your movements were slow and hesitant, but you didn’t want to pull away; not when his lips were softer than they looked, not when they were more sugary than any ice cream you’ve tasted; not when he pulled you closer towards him; and definitely not when his breaths ignited a fire within you.
you didn’t want to pull away and neither did he.
“why’re you calling me at the butt-crack of dawn?” grumbled yan, your group leader.
“can you pick me up?”
when you got in the car, she instantly started her scolding.
“do you know what time it is? 5:30 in the morning, and do you know what I could be doing instead of picking you up? sleeping! look at you! your clothes are damp, making my seats wet, and your hair is all tangled. not to mention that you slept, overnight, at a beach. a beach, y/n! there are so many people who could’ve seen you. you’re so lucky that I convinced our manager that you were home with us, she was about to call a manhunt on you. did you have to turn off your phone? couldn’t you at least tell her where you were or that you were okay?”
she pursed his lips after glancing over at your slumping figure, “at least tell me you guys used protection.”
you felt your face burn in a matter of seconds, “nothing of the sort happened!”
she laughed at your reaction, “but something did happen.”
you looked out the window at the rising sun, smiling to yourself, “something did happen.”
Helloo!! Can i please request one imagine with haechan, like they got into a fight and he doesn't want to stop fighting and then you start crying and he feels guilty? I really love how you write!! 💞💞💞

[5:02 pm] “why are you still talking about this?”
“because he likes you, y/n!”
“first of all, he doesn’t and second of all, how many times do I have to remind you that you’re my boyfriend,” you sighed, trying your best to keep your voice level.
“are you sure? because you did spend the entire day with him.”
you rolled your eyes, “talk to me when your jealousy is not speaking for you.”
“where are you going?” he called out.
“away from you,” you mumbled, closing the door to your bedroom.
“we’re not done here,” he frowned, knocking on your door.
you were silent.
“y/n, open the door!” he continued to knock on your door.
then he heard it. a sniffle.
he stopped, “y/n?”
“go away, hyuck,” you told him, voice low.
he swallowed, looking down at the floor. he then heard a ding. following the sound, he found your phone lying on the kitchen counter. donghyuck’s frowned deepened and bitter taste rose in his mouth when he saw the guy’s name on your screen.
‘hey, thanks for helping me pick out a ring. and don’t worry, he will love the song you prepared!!!!’
donghyuck thought back to all the times you were humming a random melody or when you hid your phone screen from him, and it finally dawned on him why you were spending so much time with your friend.
he walked back to your door.
“y/n,” his voice was soft, “open the door.”
silence.
“please?” he asked.
again, no response.
he sighed, “our anniversary is coming up and the fact that you were hiding your phone and spending a significant amount of time with your friend, who is a guy, might I add, awoke a very ugly emotion in me.”
“I’m sorry. I’m so, so sorry,” he leaned his forehead against the door, “I’m stupid.”
the aching in his heart grew stronger and the lump in his throat grew bigger.
“I let my jealousy get the best of me and I- I was blinded by darkness. I forgot about you. about how you distract me during games because you want attention, about how you get pouty when you’re sleepy, about how you refuse to kiss me until I’ve brushed my teeth, about how you always bring me food when I’m distracted by practice, about how you watch your favorite shows like you haven’t watched them a million times,” he smiled sadly, “I didn’t focus on those things. I focused on how devestating it would be to lose you.”
“I,” tears brimmed in his eyes, “I love you. I love you so much and I’m sorry I’m dumb, but I promise you, I’ll be better. I’ll learn to control my jealousy. I’ll make it up to you. please, open the door.”
he stood outside your door, waiting for you to say something, do something, or just hear something from behind the door. but all he got in return was silence, ear piercing silence.
just as he was about to leave, you opened the door. and before you could say anything, he hugged you. his grip was tight, as if you’d slip away from him.

just as haechan finished his sentence, he was poked by a meterstick.
“yeah, so no touching!” jaemin frowned, continuing to pry haechan off of you with his meterstick.
“okay, okay!” haechan muttered, releasing you from the hug.
“everyone! hands out,” instructed jaemin.
everyone listened and hand sanitizer was squirted into each hand.
“okay everyone, do you know the plan?” you asked.
“toilet paper,” haechan and renjun announced.
“snacks,” chenle and jisung smiled.
“fruits and vegetables,” jeno and jaemin nodded.
“alright, let’s go!”
“are you spraying them with febreeze?” you asked, squinting at your screen.
“yes, they went outside to buy grocceries,” renjun explained, spraying their shoes and grabbing jisung and chenle’s phones with gloves.
“do you guys go through this every time you go out?” you laughed.
“are you not going through this every time you go out?” renjun asked, cleaning their phones with wipes.
“I mean, I spray and clean my phone,” you shrugged, “but not as carefully as you guys.”
“just trying to stay safe,” jeno smiled, putting jisung and chenle’s clothes into a bag.
“wait are you doing laundry?” you asked, “because I have some...”
jeno rolled his eyes, “sure, y/n just give to me through the screen, I believe in you.”
you chuckled and threw a shirt at your camera, “jen...it didn’t work!”
“guys, guys, guys, did you do the homework for math?” haechan questioned, pushing jisung and chenle out of the camera’s way and showing you the homework.
“why did you say guys if you were really just asking y.n?” muttered renjun.
“yes I did, hyuck.”
“can I-”
“no,” you frowned.
“but-”
“no.”
he pouted, “guess I’ll just look up the answers then.”
“y/n!” they all gasped.
you looked at the six different faces on your computer screen.
“why are you guys each using a different device?”
“because,” they all said.
you gave them a funny look, “okay...”
“we’re bored, y/n,” jaemin frowned.
“yeah...” jisung pouted.
“and that has to do with me because...”
“we’re tired of each other,” renjun sighed.
you snorted, “yeah, okay, very funny.”
“renjun’s tired of us,” haechan corrected.
“we’re bored, and we’re hungry,” jeno announced.
“guys, I turned off my phone for two days and suddenly everyone is like this?”
“this is the impact you have on the world,” chenle explained.
“you guys are so extra, I swear. open up your door, I went on a boba run.”
you hung, roling your eyes upon hearing the loud cheers of the boys.
“one text of ‘can you buy us food?’ would’ve sufficed, you know?” you sighed, as renjun sprayed you with febreeze.
“but why do that when we could bombard you with emojis and memes?” haechan asked.
“you can’t forget to top it off with a sad facetime call,” jaemin added.
“and it worked,” shrugged jisung, passing out the drinks to everyone.

-
[5:23 pm] “I’m going to puke.”
“gross,” delinquent!donghyuck mumbled, backing away from you.
“hyuck, I-,” you looked down at your shaking hands, and then at him, “I’m sorry, I can’t.”
he sighed, “didn’t take you for someone who’s weak.”
you rolled your eyes, looking around for someone to help you get out of the gear.
“hey, hey,” he grabbed your wrist, “I’m just kidding.”
“we’ll be jumping together, y/n. if you die, I die too,” he smiled.
“that’s supposed to reassure me how?”
“cause I’ll be the last thing you see,” he winked.
“dummy,” you mumbled, failing to hide your smile.
“you can do this. you helped me pass my class, a task everyone deemed was impossible,” he planted his hands on your shoulders, “you can jump off a ledge.”
“you’re way less scary,” you sighed, “but I guess, you are right. being your tutor was pain. I mean-”
“okay,” he chuckled, hugging you close.
“what are you-”
“ready guys?” the instructor yelled.
“yep,” donghyuck answered.
“okay, when I yell jump, you jump,” the instructor directed.
“think you can handle that?” donghyuck challeneged.
“three!”
“I can jump,” you frowned.
“two!”
“I mean...” donghyuck mumbled, making a face.
you looked up at him and glared, “I’m fully capable of jumping.”
“One!”
donghyuck smiled down at you.
“jump!”
and the two of you jumped.
you screamed, heart feeling like it would burst through your chest. your arms tightly wound their way around donghyuck’s torso. the wind whistled in your ears, mixed with donghyuck’s joyous yelps.
“you can open your eyes now.”
and you did.
you were hanging upside down, right above a body of water. you looked around, the scenery around you calmly flowing in the breeze. you looked over to a smirking hyuck.
“you know, when I brought you a scary movie, I thought you would’ve clung onto me, but I guess bungee jumping is the trick,” he teased, a glint in his eyes.
it was then did you notice that your arms were still tightly clutching onto him, and that his face was very, very close to yours. when you tried to back away from him, he tightened his grip.
“I didn’t say I didn’t like it,” he laughed, taking one hand and wiping away hair that was in your face.
“that’s better,” he mumbled, eyes sparkling as he analysed your red face, “is your heart beating as fast as mine?”
you gulped, not sure if he was messing around, “is that what that sound it?”
“or maybe it’s your stomach rumbling,” he whispered.
he was incomparable to the nature around you. the birds chirped in the background. his eyes were a deeper brown than the oak of the trees, his silver hair, although wildly hanging from his head, blended beautifully with the stream, and his skin glowed under the sunset.
his hand was still lingering on your face after brushing your hair away, and you found yourself leaning into his touch. you could feel his breath fanning your lips, your eyes flickering to his lips. your heart sped up as he got closer, and closer until he planted his lips, on your forehead.
you sighed and you weren’t sure if it was out of relief or disappointment. it’s not like he could kiss you yet, anyway.
donghyuck swallowed, “we’re getting pulled up.”
and indeed you were. you looked down at the stream, letting out a small, dry chuckle as you noticed haechan’s reflection in the water, growing farther and farther away from you.
“I wonder what we should do next time,” he mumbled.
“next time? you have to make sure that you ace your test before there’s even a next time,” you laughed.
“I’m going to ace the next test,” he boldly announced, climbing onto the platform.
he lent you his hand, “because once I do, I get to kiss you.”

renjun
acts like he doesn’t want to cuddle but how could he ever not want to cuddle with you?
::
you stared at him with big hopeful eyes.
he sighed, closing his laptop, “you’re so needy.”
“you’re lucky you’re cute,” he opened up his arms, “or else I would’ve continued working on-”
you cut him off by jumping on him and kissing him.
“less talking, more cuddling.”
jeno
he was about to text you to come over, but you beat him to it and texted him first.
::
once he got to your place, you immediately attacked him in a hug and a kiss.
“if I knew how much you missed me, I would’ve come over sooner,” he commented, carrying you to bed.
haechan
thought you were the cutest thing ever in the whole entire universe
::
“sure,” he grinned, his heart absolutely flooded with love at your ecstatic face.
when you jumped on him and kissed him, he felt his heart burst.
“you’re absolutely adorable,” he cooed, hugging you close.
jaemin
a tease because he enjoys making you flustered.
::
“you look like you want something,” he commented.
“I do.”
“what is it?”
you coughed, “um, well...”
“I want to cuddle,” you mumbled.
“what was that?” he asked, a smile tugging at his lips.
“I’d like to cuddle with you,” you said a little louder, face heating up more.
“you want to cuddle?” he asked, a full blown smile on his face.
you sheepishly nodded. it hasn’t been long since you guys started dating so you were hesitant to ask. and right when he agreed, you excitedly jumped on him, having enough courage to kiss him.
“will this always be the reward when I agree to cuddling?”
chenle
you were trying to subtly hint to him that you wanted to cuddle, but he was oblivious.
::
“here’s a blanket,” he smiled.
you furrowed your brows, “what?”
“you said you were cold, right?”
you rolled your eyes, “I don’t want a blanket dummy! I want to cuddle with you.”
it was like a lightbulb went off in his head, “oh, okay.”
shaking your head, you take the blanket from his grip and kiss him, “what am I going to do with you?”
jisung
a complete and utter babie.
::
“um, yeah,” he smiled, shyly scratching the back of his head.
you jumped on him, pushing him down. you then started pecking kisses all over his face. “why’re you so cute!”
his face was flushed red. he scrunched up his nose, “I’m not as cute as you.”
