You whine as you stretch, waking up gradually as you do so. You were so warm, both from being buried under the duvet covers, and being wrapped in Donghyuck’s arms.
‘Morning,’ he mumbles groggily, ‘sleep well?’
‘Mmm,’ you hum, ‘the baby moved around quite a bit.’
‘They’re getting big,’ he runs warm hands under your shirt and over your little bump.
You turn your head to face him and kiss him good morning. You turn back, Donghyuck kissing your shoulder-blade. Both of you lay dozing for a few minutes, just enjoying each others presence.
‘It’s so quiet,’ you whisper, ‘why is it so quiet?’
‘Don’t complain,’ Donghyuck grumbles, ‘you’ll jinx it.’
You turn around now properly, so that you’re facing each other, ‘just wondering what my children are up to.’
Donghyuck is too distracted by you to care, pressing kisses to your neck, ‘you’re pretty.’
‘Hyuck..’
‘I love you.’
‘I love you too, but-‘
Your bedroom door creaks open slowly, your little girl’s face appearing around it, eyes not fully open, hair sticking wildly up. Donghyuck rolls off you, acknowledging his daughter.
‘Morning, angel,’ Donghyuck lifts Kyungah up onto the bed, kissing her forehead.
‘Daddy. Mummy/mommy,’ she mumbles, ‘I just woke up.’
‘Yeah, we can tell sweetheart,’ you laugh, flattening her hair down a little, ‘did we wake you up?’
‘No, but I wanted to come lie down with you.’
‘That’s okay.. Did you sleep well?’
‘Uh-huh, I dreamt about baby sister.’
You and Donghyuck exchange a look.
‘Kyungie, we don’t know if it’s a baby sister,’ Donghyuck says carefully, but Kyungah takes no notice.
‘I just wanted to come hang out with you mummy/mommy,’ Kyungah lodges herself between you and Donghyuck, curling into your side, throwing her little arm around your bump.
Donghyuck huffs, ‘but what if I wanted to hang out with mummy/mommy?’
Kyungah giggles maniacally, ‘well you can’t.’
‘No?’ Donghyuck laughs, and Kyungah shakes her head, ‘why not?’
‘Because she’s my mummy/mommy!’
‘She’s my wife first!’
‘No,’ Kyungah protests, tugging on your sleep shirt.
‘Meanie,’ Donghyuck sticks his tongue out at the girl, staring at her for a few moments before launching himself at her in a tickle attack.
’No!’ Kyungah shrieks, giggling and squirming while Donghyuck blows raspberries where his hands aren’t.
‘Careful!’ you chuckle, shuffling away and wrapping an arm around your bump, although you knew Donghyuck would never let Kyungah get too close.
‘Daddy, stop it!’ Kyungah’s screaming with laughter at this point.
‘Hyuck, you’ll wake Dalgun,’ you warn, knowing your son would not be pleased at the disturbance.
Again, as if on cue, Dalgun trudges into the room, rubbing his eyes.
‘What’s going on?’
‘Your dad is attacking your sister.’
‘Oh,’ Dalgun flops down on the bed next to you, absentmindedly burying his face in your side.
‘Little Mummy’s/Mommy’s boy,’ Donghyuck grumbles, finally releasing Kyungah who wriggles over to you for protection.
Donghyuck whines at his children abandoning him, breaking into dramatic wails, which the children ignore to annoy him even further.
‘You both love mummy/mommy more than me,’ he cries, and the two kids just roll their eyes, ‘I bet you don’t even love me at all!’
’No daddy, I do love you,’ Kyungah sings, but Donghyuck turns away, holding his hand up at her.
’No, you’ve made your feelings very clear,’ Donghyuck huffs, crossing his arms and shaking his head.
‘Daddy no,’ Kyungah shrieks.
‘Only mummy/mommy loves me now,’ he pouts, making grabby hands towards you.
‘Hmm, questionable,’ you tease, Donghyuck looking offended.
‘No.. nobody in my family loves me… I might as well just… run away.’
Donghyuck rolls out of bed, ‘and I’ll never come back!’
‘Wait no!’ the children giggle, removing themselves from you and running out of the room to follow Donghyuck.
‘You’re coming into a madhouse, baby Lee,’ you rub your bump, stomach rumbling as you think about breakfast.
