Starting off this week with some sentences from 'another fucking sleeping beauty fic' for @camelotsfavouriteknight and @stonemaskedtaliesin. Thanks for making me write!

To his surprised delight, Derek blushes. "I was thinking you might be more comfortable out of your clothes," he says.

"We should definitely both be wearing less," Stiles says, delighted by the hunger in Derek's eyes.

Derek proceeds to take off his clothes, letting them fall to the floor. Stiles devours the view of his heavily muscled body, fingers literally twitching with the urge to touch.

"Come here," he says before Derek's undergarment even hits the floor.

I was thinking about your knot," Stiles says, finding it hard to meet Peter's eyes, but determined not to look away.

Peter lifts an eyebrow. "I suppose I shouldn't be surprised you know about knots," he says.

Stiles rolls his eyes. "You don't think Scott called Derek the first time it happened to him, do you?"

Peter nods, acknowledging the point. "What were you thinking about doing with it?" he presses.

Stiles swallows hard. He suspects his answer will surprise Peter. "I was thinking about sucking on it," he blurts out before he loses his nerve.

Both of Peter's eyebrows fly up this time. "You weren't thinking about it in that tight little ass of yours?"

Stiles shakes his head. "That came later."

"Good evening, Stiles, then," Derek says.

i loved this book. duh, obviously! you saw the five star rating above! but, i’m reiterating it loudly cuz i actually did. as a dramione reader, since this book was announced, i knew i was gonna like it and give it probably a three+ star rating! i didn’t know that i was gonna love it this much tho!

aurienne is a type A lovable firecracker and osric is a self absorbed jokester with questionable morals. and somehow they banter their way from strangers serving in opposing Orders to reluctant doctor/patient to begrudging co-workers to somewhat friendly acquaintances with an annoying persistant *crush* (it’s actually love not a crush) on each other … wow, they didn’t become lovers!!? yes, dear reader! this book actually *did the thing* and followed on its tagline of “a slow-burn enemies to lovers” meaning the enemies are going through the different stages before reaching the lovers destination!

as an english major who sat for a whole semester listening to lecturer drone on and on about the “ye olden” kingdoms of the british isles, i’m quite delighted that the author chose an alternate version of that U.K. as the setting for this novel. the adventures our protagonists go on throughout the land were very reminiscent of the astérix et obélix cartoon adventures which i remember liking as a child. and the magic system reminded me so much of fairy tail which i adore!!!

the plot essentially is: in a world, where magic (seith) exists, eight orders formed over the years to teach a select few how to use it for a variety of purposes. some orders are good (bright paths) and some are bad-really bad- (dusken paths). an assassin (osric) that belong to an order where they execute their weak, finds out he’s loosing his seith due to a recent combat injury (shit!💀). now he has to beseech with one of the healing order’s top healers to dig up an old paper she presented at a conference years ago, which hypothesise that there is a way to reverse “seith rot” via the “ye olden ways” of using magic! this top healer (aurienne) refuses immediately on principle but acquiesces when osric offers to fund the healan order’s efforts to develop a vaccine against the pox virus that’s reeking havoc on vagrant children. from then on, their adventures begin and all seems hopeless for a while there for osric’s sake. then, the haelan order HQ gets attacked and kingdom higher-ups start asking around about who is this generous anonymous donor!! oooh, something is amiss!

yeah, this novel was fun, funny, and adventurous. and i enjoyed it immensely. i can’t wait for its sequel! also, i listened to the audiobook and the narrators did a phenomenal work, so you definitely need to check it out!

ps. bear in mind, this novel is just part one, and it ends on a cliffhanger in the middle of some exciting events!

14. Do you think rp has had a positive or negative affect on your life or you as a person?

i’m gonna say positive! a lot of the time i used it as an escape so i don’t always associate it with my healthiest mental states, but ultimately i think i’ve had a lot of fun good experiences, plus i think rp helped me a lot in empathising with and also seeing beauty in different characters? it’s hard to explain but like, i think writing different types of characters also got me to broaden my aesthetic horizons? when i made my first rp account (orochimaru) the dialogue flowed very naturally, but when i moved onto some other characters over the years i found i really had to think about and analyse how a character would think and respond, sometimes replies would take hours cuz i’d have long internal debates about whether a character would do x, or the complete opposite. it was frustrating but i think it opened up my thinking and empathy quite a lot, and made me appreciate characters i hadn’t really before (plus improved my writing). most importantly, though, i made some really important friends through it!! one i sadly don’t speak to any more but the other obviously. you know dontcha daphne . heres to another 5 years babey 

15. How has rp changed you personally?

i think it made me put a lot more consideration into the words i use, both writing-wise but also just in conversation, and some of the rules i applied to good rp interactions i also realised were pretty good go-to rules on how i could tell if i was enjoying a conversation or not, which is now kind of something i use when i’m feeling socially stiff (the rule is uhh, ‘if what they’re saying to you could be said to anyone, and there’s nothing anchoring the conversation to you, it’s not a good conversation’ or something. ofc that’s not applicable to every conversation, but i think in general it’s a pretty good thing to aim for. so i’d say rp made me think more about what i say 

16. If you could change one thing about rp on tumblr, what would it be? Why?

i think... probably i’d hope for more variety in characters? i prefer a more immersive experience, and i put a lot of effort into trying and making my renditions of characters are accurate to the canon version as i can, so constantly compromising on character relationships in you end up with these very random assortments of characters who are developed relationships through rp until they’re very close, eg ‘my suigetsu is absolute best friends with a reincarnated izuna uchiha’ it’s not really something i can enjoy. i know that’s not a popular opinion obviously since a lot of people enjoy roleplay BECAUSE they can develop new things, i think i’m just a bit of a stickler for canon unfortunately.. i’ve never really been big on crack relationships. like, i’m here because i appreciate canon and wanna explore it further, deepen stuff i’ve already seen and am familiar with, so the idea of going off nothing at all kind of breaks the spell for me. that’s less something i’d ‘change’ than ‘add’ though 

22. What would make you block someone?

eh, i ain’t stingy with the block button, if someone follows me who i don’t really want following me i’ll block em, if i come across someone who’s racist, sexist, etc i’ll block em, if i see someone expressing a lot of opinions that i dislike i’ll block em. if ppl seem to have a predisposition for drama i tend to preemptively block too, or a lot of character hate... like, orochimaru is one of my fav characters in naruto and there is a LOT of very ugly, tagged hate written about them which i have a very low tolerance for at this point so if i see that shit i slam block who cares we don’t know each other
