Hælos // La Route du Rock // 2016
HÆLOS’ debut album Full Circle from 2016 was an exceptional foray into dark trip hop imbued alt pop and electronica. It made us fall inextricably in love with the London quartet, so we were elated when the group returned late last year with new music in the form of Buried In The Sand, which they now follow up with a new song and umbral video named Kyoto. HÆLOS ventures deep into beat shuffling, dance-ready electronica on the nocturnal anthem, bringing us a glorious and exultant trip hop odyssey with shades of Portishead, Zero 7, and Radiohead coursing through its chord driving, synth flaring sound labyrinth. And just as we had hoped when Buried In The Sand surfaced, HÆLOS has announced their sophomore album Any Random Kindness, arriving on May 10th via Infectious. Pre-order the full length, here. We’re eagerly looking forward to a chance at catching the four piece when we make our way out to Austin for SXSW in March.
