So I wanted to doodle what Norik and Varian looked like for a while now. In my au, Norik is she/her (mtf) and Varian has remained she/her. The picture on the left is how Norik would look after returning to her toa form and on the right is how she looked on her last mission together with Varian.

@crystaltoa‘s Rahaga idea is really really good and if I didn’t take a million years to write things I’d be tempted to write a fanfic for it
some silly doodles will have to suffice instead
Toa Hagah Norik
A beautiful Toa man who worked for the Brotherhood of Makuta.
[Ko-Fi]
The finale of my Toa Hagah posts over the last month, the official Kanohi shapes worn by the final four members of Teridax's Toa Hagah, in their canon metallic colors. These masks have been reforged in honor of past heroes, and were gifted to the Toa Hagah by members of their previous teams after they were crafted by Brotherhood of Makuta slaves. Rahkshaga(h)
So, it sort of bothers me that there isn’t a stronger connection between the Rahaga and the Rahkshi in the Bionicle canon. They use the same head and the Rahaga staves are basically half-Rahkshi staves. But the Rahkshi aren’t part of the Hordika arc (or any part of the Metru story) and the Rahaga don’t really overlap with them.
The idea of little mini-Rahkshi, the Turaga to their Toa, obviously doesn’t fit in canon, but you can’t tell me that isn’t what they look like. I like this as an idea, but I’m not sure it’s one I could work into my alt-canon. I have vague plans for how the Rahaga relate to the Hordika and the Rahkshi are mostly straight-up canonical, but it does feel a bit like a missed opportunity given their strikingly similar designs. They can even both hover, in canon!
If the Rahaga were the Rakhshi-equivalent of the Turaga, this would strengthen the idea of the Rahkshi as the equivalents of the Toa—the sons of Makuta against the sons of Mata Nui, so to speak. But, of course, there are no Rahkshi-Matoran.
New Hagah Elements (And Colors)
In Bionicle G1, there were a couple of elements that I felt were underrepresented, and others, specifically one (Fire) that was overrepresented…
With YaBr changing the list of Matoran elements, this means that some characters, such as Varian, need new elements to compensate… But I also figured; Why not change the elements of pre-existing characters, such as the Toa Hagah?
Changing the Toa Hagah’s elements would help them stand out more, since every other complete team we’ve seen has the typical six, standard elements… It’d help to introduce the other elements into the story with new characters, avoid the repeat of the same ability and color scheme, diversify and add variety, etc.! Plus, I don’t think the Toa Hagah are characters who are so ‘sacred’ and iconic that changing their elements would be blasphemous… And I could get away with it VS the Toa Metru or Inika, who were also present on the island of Mata Nui, and thus need to adhere to just the six elements present there.
With the Toa Hagah, I can expand the skillsets of our protagonists, which again- Helps them stand out more… There’s a reason why I couldn’t remember if it was Norik or Lhikan who used to be Varian’s friend, alas. Besides, the main reason why the initial Rahaga had the standard six elements was because of toys and marketing; The standard six colors were the status quo, they were former Toa and mentors to the Toa Hordika.
