CORAL RESTORATION PROJECT - With Bali Hai Our team of instructors and crew have been working hard the last few days to restore some of the reef in Lembongan Bay. The process involved the collection of broken but still living coral fragments from around the local area. These were then attached to the 'Spiders' (metal support frames) which are laid over the damaged reef areas. The Spiders are interlocked together like Tetris pieces creating a web and base for the new reef. Hard work yet every rewarding for everyone who was involved. We are excited to see how the corals will grow over the years to come. Some of the fish were already looking right at home amongst the frames. Even while the coral is small the frames themselves will give shelter for the fish living in the area.
