Menjangan Island has some of Bali’s best coral reefs, wall-diving and snorkelling sites, teeming with a spectacular marine life and famous for its lack of currents and the great visibility, which extends to 50 metres at particular times of the year. Here you can view some of the best soft corals, sponges, and Bali’s greatest diversity of gorgonian fans – which attract huge numbers of small reef fish including brightly coloured parrot fish, yellow back fusiliers, powder-blue surgeon fish, damsel fish, puffer fish, unicorn fish, barracuda and silvery jacks. The walls plummet deep into the ocean floor so there is always plenty to see.

CORAL RESTORATION PROJECT - With Bali Hai Our team of instructors and crew have been working hard the last few days to restore some of the reef in Lembongan Bay. The process involved the collection of broken but still living coral fragments from around the local area. These were then attached to the 'Spiders' (metal support frames) which are laid over the damaged reef areas. The Spiders are interlocked together like Tetris pieces creating a web and base for the new reef. Hard work yet every rewarding for everyone who was involved. We are excited to see how the corals will grow over the years to come. Some of the fish were already looking right at home amongst the frames. Even while the coral is small the frames themselves will give shelter for the fish living in the area.
