Today in 1998, my 24th They Might Be Giants show at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY with Dan Hickey and Hal Cragin. And Double Dong. Those guys are whacked.
After the show some of us were hanging around when the Johns came out. They declined autographs and got into a car together, with Flans at the wheel. He pulled up to us and rolled down the window. "Hey, do you want an orange?" The four of us happily received an orange. Two days earlier the band was in Florida.
So, They drove off and we did the obvious thing before departing with our TMBG oranges 🙌🍊🍊🍊🍊
