Honestly very very boring </3 99% of the time his shirt will be tucked in and he probably won't wear shorts unless it's super super hot, craziest pattern he'll wear is stripes, and no bright colors either... SAD

OC QUESTION. So Hal's an intern, right? Does he know whether he wants to be an operative or tech yet? Also is Hev, like, his assigned mentor or something? Or does he get a little bit of training from lots of different people? I am just very curious about Hal, I like his vibes a lot. Fresh-faced intern boy!!!!!

Yes!! Hal’s an intern :> he’s basically one of the first of these batch of interns since the internship program was disbanded for a few years after “the incident” but all of the employees basically get to choose if they want to apply to be a mentor or not, and Hev decided hey! This is a great opportunity to share what I know and get someone to genuinely care about the kids on earth and humanity in general! (fun fact! They were the only one of the top six to apply)

So yes! Hal was assigned to Hev, who signed up to be a mentor ( Hev is pretty much always looking for any excuse to improve the company and thus help more kids! ) I imagine the internship course is pretty much spending most of the time with your mentor, with monthly reviews/check ins in-between with whoever’s in charge of the internship program (uh oh new character design opportunities >:3c)

He’s undecided about wanting to be a tech or an operative, but throughout the story it’s kinda clear that operative is sort of what he’s leaning towards in the beginning, mostly because it’s what most of the unicorns in society actually get to see of the whole process (and ofc it’s a whole sort of celebrity/hero culture kind of thing) but as he learns more and more about what actually happens behind the scenes he starts to feel more interested in being a technician (mostly because of how much he ends up respecting and looking up to Hev, and how passionate they are about what they do and it just lines up a bit closer to Hal’s morals in general?)

Other little character things about Hal!

- he takes a lot of notes! and ends up going through entire notebooks every month, he is very thorough and doesn’t want to miss a single bit of information!

- although he’s Hev’s intern, Trixie tends to take advantage of him a lot and uses him for coffee runs and snacks, and all sorts of annoying and silly little tasks 😔

- like most unicorns he wasn’t adopted by anyone when he was first “born” so he has spent the majority of his life so far in dorms and housing facilities, but later becomes Hev’s roommate since he gets a few credits for being an intern :> (I guess I should mention that although you’re never required to get a job, and housing, food, all basic necessities are free, along with education and most recreational spaces, you can get luxury stuff such as your own apartment/house, non necessary consumables like alcohol and treats, etc etc. through a credits system! ((Name pending)) you can earn these points/credits by either getting a job or helping out the community in some way! but again, not necessary to their survival in any way, just an option to get more out of their existence if wanted)

- Hal chose his name because it sounds like “Hell Fire” and he wanted to seem cool and badass but it didn’t end up really fitting who he turned out to be, but hey! he tried fjfjjf ;w;’

im a little curious, do you have any details on sunny?

Oh yes!!! Don’t think I forgot about him :-] I just haven’t found a way to express his backstory that feels right or interesting(?) enough yet! for most of the other characters I kind of already had an idea of what sort of life they had lead beforehand but Sunny is one Im still developing and don’t want to feel like an afterthought! thought I will say I have a pretty good idea after doing some more oc exploration and thinking last night :-]

(I also am trying to decide whether it’s worth sharing Hal’s since he’s only like 20 and was just sort of in school/dorm life before getting his internship, for me I’m wayyyy more interested in who he becomes…. I think there’s some potential big changes coming his way and I’m looking forward to exploring what those changes could be as he grows and learns <3)
