hal jordan gender can be anything but i personally like to think he’s ftm whos like 1000% dedicated to come across as the most manliest man to ever which leads to this toxic masculinity thing he only has for himself. and this goes on for a WHILE until post-spectre he like, feels things about his gender again and at this point in his life he has no time to dwell on it bc GL things and his stupid planet is being invaded for the umpteenth time this year. but anyways whenever he has those moments where he feels conflicted in his own body, he gets this feeling of pure guilt and hatred and he’s like ‘nope i’m a guy, i’ve figured this out fully. i’m not going back on my decision’ and slowly overtime he js stops feeling bad abt his fucking emotions (let’s be honest he probably got life changing advice from a stranger 30 fucking billion light years away or someone he knew js lamely threw out a comment on a completely separate topic and he like had an epiphany on a random thursday).
BUT once he’s finally reached inner peace, hal begins to do certain things he thought would make ppl question whether he was a guy. his hair is like number one on this list, i fully fucking believe hal has been rocking the same hairstyle since the air force since it was how a “proper man” styles and grooms himself but now that he’s not trying to conform to stupid gender norms he lets himself grow his hair out and he js has fun with it. but like my point here is that after after everything this man goes through he probably js comes off as gnc and it pleases him. and yh that’s my take on hal gender
