After an utter nightmare of a week I’ve finally managed to catch up with druck, and wow, Amira and Mohammed’s chemistry is really off the charts. The way they look at each other is so intense, I keep forgetting I am watching a video. Instead I feel like I am on a date with them as a chaperone. And it’s like I really don’t want to interrupt, but they always look like they’re two seconds away from kissing, so I here I am sitting on my bed in my pajamas, eating ice cream and yelling “hey now, how about some distance!” at my computer screen. 😅

Anyway, thanks druck, I needed some happiness.

Halal Dating

The word Halal translates to permissible in Islamic culture. Some of those who practice Islam may view modern dating as indecent and impermissible, which is why it can be seen as contradictory. Many are divided between the different generations of Muslims, which generally corresponds to their acceptance, tolerance, or rejection of Halal Dating. Millennials and younger generations are beginning to create their own standard for seeking a life partner through a blend of traditon & western influence. Halal Dating can be described as getting to know a love interest through Western means of dating & without parental involvement, but also with the intent of marriage and often opposed to sexual and or overtly intimate involvement before marriage. This allows each partner the time and space to get to know each other without the complexity and involvement of their respective families, as well as getting to know their potential partner more before getting married.
