How “Half a Day” made me “woke”.
The story “Half a Day” to me is somewhat of a representation of how a lifetime actually feels. I have realized that many of my own family members feel the same way. As though life flashes by you in a blink of an eye. In story “Half a Day” the protagonist starts off as a kid scared to go to school and ends seeing himself as a grandpa. The story made me “woke” to the fact that life is in fact short and its important to live it to the fullest because one day we will be old. Time isn't something that we can stop or something that we can get back. Time continues, we get older. The story really got me thinking of how true it is. Even though I am only 22 years old I felt that. It feels like yesterday I was a toddler begging my mom to let me sleep in-between her and my dad at night. Now I have my own child begging to sleep with me at night. Also I became “woke” to how worries change in life and sometimes things feel very worrisome like your first day in school or your first day in a job but everything is temporary. Like I said before time can’t be stopped which means things change.
