Ken Curtis started his career as a vocalist in the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra and later in the Sons of the Pioneers.
Ken Curtis was in the long running TV series, "Gunsmoke," for 13 years, portraying Festus from season 8 through 20, when "Gunsmoke" was cancelled in 1975.
