Western Leftists taking non-Western (non-white) peoples' most right-wing, theocratic, patriarchal ethnonationalist groups and re-labeling them as liberatory Leftist heroes is their very own stupid brand of Orientalism. If Hamas were white, they would be the KKK. But because they're brown, suddenly they're the fucking NAACP.

The principle that whether an action is good or evil depends not on the nature of the action, but on whether the "right" kind of person did it? That's a classic right-wing principle. You haven't made it any more morally sound by switching the identity of the "right" people from Us to Them.
