Pictober - Hurricane
Hamilton fanart in the year of our Lord 2024? More likely than you think
Anyway prompt today was Hurricane and I've been thinking about redrawing an OLD piece from 2017 since Pic posted the prompts so here we go haha
And obligatory note using @lemmegettamcpictwo 's prompt list this year! Check it out if you're still looking for a list :3
Old piece under the cut!
Picture this:
I'm vibing, getting ready to go to bed.
I put on my Spotify list of songs I like.
The list contains 410 songs in total and is on shuffle.
Hurricane comes on.
I'm vibing, acting out the song.
It ends with "This is the only way I can protect my legacy. The Reynolds Pamphlet."
Instantly The Reynolds Pamphlet comes on.
I do a double take.
This is it. This is my night.
this is the only way i can protect my legacy
In the song “Hurricane” from Hamilton, Hamilton says “I couldn’t seem to die,” then Burr says “wait for it”
There’re no words to describe the love I feel for this musical and the utter admiration I feel towards Lin-Manuel. A story so complex, so beautifully narrated, with such fascinating characters, I just get emotional every time I listen to it or even talk about it. This particular drawing is based on Hurricane, which is my favourite song from the album. The pain and the anger and the desperation breathe through Lin’s interpretation, and it usually makes me tear up instantly. The moment before catastrophe, there’s something so beautiful about it. I will hopefully continue to draw characters from the musical in situations such as this one.
*to the tune of hamilton’s hurricane*: I yote my way out
Gang Violence (Hurricane Parody)
In the eye of gang Violence
There is quiet
For just a moment
A purple night
When I was thirteen a gang came and destroyed my town
I survived
I couldn't seem to cry
I drew my way out
Drew everything down for as I could see
I drew my way out
I looked up and the town had its eyes on me
I passed my book around
To total strangers
Moved to kindness by my drawings
Raised enough for me to be passenger on a bus known as a Greyhound...
