Today? Today it’s Non Stop because i just sent my friend an entire essay about just the argument between Eliza and Alex. The motifs, the symbolism, the callbacks, the apotheosis, the appeal of humanity vs the allure of hubris *chefs kiss*. Honestly? One of my friends doesn’t think Hamilton is sad. And yet i’ve spent most of the morning obsessing over just how sad this one little conversation is. And the implications it has to say about Eliza! Incredible. This song, this argument, is the first time Eliza says his name in the play. Period. Hardstop. And the implications are insane!!! You know what? I’ve been debating writing essays about Hamilton, but a this point i’m seriously considering it because there is so much to talk about 😭
