Hey uh, I've been having kind of a shit ass time recently and things have just been fuckall bad in my life so uh, can I get either Rodimus or Ratchet like, affectionately consoling someone who's just been through a lot and in a mad bout of depression.
/hey so i hope that you don’t mind that i wrote for both of the bots for you ♥
Rodimus could tell immediately that there was something wrong. You always had this aura of positivity around you, a smile on your face, and a willingness to help others. But sometimes when it came to yourself, you’d neglect your own needs before others until it ran you into the ground. Rodimus knew just by the faded color of your eyes that something wasn’t right. He hoped he wasn’t intruding on your private time, but seeing you alone hugging your knees to your chest made him feel like it was not only his duty as Captain, but his duty as your friend to check in.
He knelt down beside you and cautiously placed a servo on your back. He asked if you were okay, and your response was to just turn away. He was never really a mech great with words, so he struggled to think of something smart or moving to say. For now, he gently rubbed his servo across your back hoping that it could help soothe you.
“Listen, I know I’m no good with words, but…it’s okay. For you, I mean. It’s okay to feel like this. It’s okay to not be 100% all the time. I know I’m not. Sometimes you just need some time to take care of yourself. It sounds hard, I know. But little things every day can help. And sometimes one of those little things is just taking the time you need to heal,” he thought carefully of his words before he said them. You remained silent, but you turned to look at him. Your eyes welled with tears.
Rodimus could hear footsteps down the hall and prayed it would be someone with enough respect to give you your space. But when he saw it was the old medic, he knew that would be fine. Ratchet was someone you trusted, someone who could heal even though he spent his time fixing others on the outside. He approached and sat down on the other side of you.
Ratchet offered you one of his servos and your gripped onto a couple of digits with your much smaller hands. Rodimus continued to rub your back while Ratchet hummed a soft little tune to keep you calm. It was quiet except for your sniffles. The silence was more than deafening.
“Kid, you know you better than any other bot on this whole damn ship. You know what you need. But you let us know what we can do to help. We’re always here for you,” Ratchet broke the silence.
You looked up at him and a small smile crept on his lips. You dove into Ratchet’s chassis, arms wrapping around any metal you could to hold him close. He wrapped his arm around you and held you close. Rodimus scooted over and closed the space around you. The two of them held you for a while. They’d hold you until you’d shove them away. Even if that meant spending a millennia in their embrace, they wouldn’t leave you in your time of need.
