Stretch Before Knitting: Yoga with Adriene
I’ve posted some hand stretching exercises that I try to do before, after, and every hour or so when knitting to make sure that you are knitting healthy. This is very important for joint health.
Aside from your hand health, stretching in general is just a straight up good idea. Enter yoga. You can choose the level of “crunch” that you’re comfortable with when experiencing yoga, but I prefer just straight forward approach.
I have really bad posture due to lack of core muscles, desk job, love of yarn, etc, and have fallen in LOVE with this particular yoga series. Enter Yoga with Adriene. She’s refreshingly no fluff, and just gets straight to the good stuff. She also has a few different series that cater to different levels of yoga experience.
I encourage all knitters and crocheters to do more body stretching in addition to hand stretching whenever getting ready to sit down and really be productive with your fiber.
