There is a Ningyo exhibition at our National Museum for a few months, so a friend and I wore wafuku to visit it! Lots of dolls to see, very informative exhibition. So good to see the embroidery and weave techniques in miniature!
I had a laugh when I saw Licca-chan and anime figurines as a small part of the exhibition (two each), but I guess it’s true that they are part of the evolution of Japanese dolls.
(Whoops just realized I didn’t take photos of my friend and I together)

It has been a while! But I wanted to share a new outfit with you. My holiday kimono kitsuke! Almost a week late on posting this but thats alright. I wore for this Christmas this year. This is one of my new kimono which is a super casual, polyester tsumugi imitation. It's a dark navy color and has a stream, flower, and maple leaf motif.
I wore a casual hanhaba (half width) obi for our casual day together. This obi knot is a new one for me, called hakata. It is supposed to sit flat like a little envelope. I spent a lot of time figuring out how to style this so you got the pop of red at the back. I really like the look!
I also tied an obijime with this outfit. Not because it was needed, like at all, but I wanted to evoke a sense of cool winter, and a wrapped up gift.
Hope you like it!

It’s yukata season!
Actually, I was coordinating outfits for an upcoming group dress up haha. These photos are the resulting selections I offered them!
Plump shimaenaga (silver-throated dasher) on a branch hanhaba obi. I love the pissed looking one on far right xD
