There is a Ningyo exhibition at our National Museum for a few months, so a friend and I wore wafuku to visit it! Lots of dolls to see, very informative exhibition. So good to see the embroidery and weave techniques in miniature!
I had a laugh when I saw Licca-chan and anime figurines as a small part of the exhibition (two each), but I guess it’s true that they are part of the evolution of Japanese dolls.

These arrived a little late for yukata season, but it’s eternal summer where I live anyway, so they’ll still be used soon! This is my 2022 summer selection from Kimonomachi - so happy with them!
Achievement unlocked: dressed myself in kimono in the office!
We are having a Broadway themed annual dinner tonight, so I decided to do “Madame Butterfly” (as one of the ensemble, not as the title character haha).
Definitely an interesting experience getting dressed with only a mirror the size of my hand! I wore my kimono a bit too short but I’m pleased enough with how it turned out.
