• h a n n e l o r e • From poster child of the late 90s Androgynous attitude, to the early 2000s Bourgeois beauties, Hannelore was one of the industries most unusual, and beloved faces, with the ability to go from hard edged to soft and polished with the click of a shutter, she ushered in a new standard of beauty ( you could say she was the Kristen McMenamy of her generation ). Hailing from Belgium, she was at the forefront of Fashions invasion of Belgian Models and Designers during the early 00s ( Anouk, An Oost, Elise Crombez and Delphine Bafort were also a part of the Belgian invasion ), becoming a favourite of Steven Meisel ( shooting her for several Vogue Italia Covers, numerous editorials, and of course her career making Prada Campaign ), Inez and Vinoodh, Juergen Teller and Craig McDean, amongst many more, it was hard not to notice her presence , and her striking beauty. Campaigns for Dolce and Gabanna, Marc Jacobs, Allesandro dell Acqua and others soon followed, Hannelore was at the top of her game. For me my first recollection of Hannelore was her Campaign for Gucci, Fall 1999. She was unfamiliar, yet intriguing, very cool and unlike any other model at the time.
