Thank you Feyuca for your tireless work on shipping and customer service.
As some of you may know, my dark banquet pic has been featured in the Field Kabuki Hannibal Fanbook. I’ve seen some people asking “why haven’t i gotten my book yet”, “will I ever” and “when will the charity receipts be posted” and such. Some, I think, have lost hope.
As a guest artist, I don’t have any more info in most aspects than any of you, but I guess that because I was promised some compensation I tried to stay more in touch with the people organizing the project.
Tried, because it’s been a laborious task of sending monthly e-mails politely inquiring about news on the project.
Yesterday I asked clarification regarding their schedule (concerning artist compensation, shipping and charity donations). Because I feel like some of you may still have some interest in this information, here it is:
1) All books sent out by Oct 1
2) Payments by Oct 7
3) Inventory check and house cleaning by Oct 15
4) Charity donations after double triple checking everything (So, by 2016 maybe? Just an educated guess)
To be clear, delivery of artist compensation was promised way back when in March, in the following e-mail:
While they stated that payment would be transacted by Oct 7, they sent me mine 30 minutes after that message, so there may be some hope yet that the rest of the money will be finding its way to charities before the next planetary alignment (hopefully with full disclosure of the transactions).
So, yeah, there’s hope! This epic tale of fail is maybe coming to an end around Winter/2015~
As for me, my postal service shall be delivering me my books hopefully in a few months. (because my postal service is irrationally slow)
Here’s the illustration I did a while back for Field Kabuki, the second installment of the hannibook fanzine! I’m so honored to be featured among so many absurdly talented artists and their works, this was such a fun and original prompt to work with!
kasiabanas and I collaborated on another submission for hannibook, this time for their Field Kabuki volume! This volume takes its theme after Kabuki theatre, so for our submission we decided to focus on Bella and Jack’s arc and tie it together with the physical aspect of Kabuki theatre (mainly the rotating stage), and its seasonal motifs.
ippon-guma, or: the supplicant, 2014, graphite, watercolor, acrylic, colored pencil, white gel pen, and ink on 12x16″ hot press watercolor paper.
The 'ippon-guma' (one line red shadow of kabuki makeup) was traditionally used for a hero who was young and filled with strong morals.
This is my piece for the hannibook volume 2, Field Kabuki! I am tremendously honored to be included in the book along with so many incredibly talented artists. I drew this during a crazy time at the beginning of December when my life was insanely busy and finding out I had made it into the book was a huge thrill for me!
