Trying to figure out how Pokemon work I guess. I’ve always struggled with Chansey, and I’ve seen some artists very successfully approach it as like an axolotl? But it works better for me as a kangaroo-bird so that’s where we are. I figure Blissey’s buttwings aren’t full wings but an extension of its tail feathers?

Also the Toge line fully grows more limbs and then loses them (which happens in a few others as well so *shrug*)

July Art Challenge: Gym Trainer OC 🧚🏻‍♀️

This is Gwen, my Fairy-type Gym Trainer! I would consider her my first real Pokemon OC. She exists in an imaginary region/game that I haven’t named yet.

She’s the first gym you would encounter, and she’s a daycare teacher for both humans and young Pokemon. There’s a Pokecenter attached to her gym so everyone can heal their Pokemon before and after her gym battle. She’s very friendly and encouraging, and if you lose the battle, she gives you some advice and reassures you that you will be able to win. If you beat the game and come back to battle her again, her Tinkatink has evolved into a Tinkaton! You can also visit her at any time throughout the game to get advice about other gym leaders or just participate in a game or storytime.

Designing Gwen was so fun I ended up designing some other gym leaders for her region, so you can see those soon as I finish drawing them. ☺️
