At Soundscapes #34 on 04/07/2019, myself, Marlene Radice and Emma Kelly played a live soundtrack to the last half-hour of Independence Day (1996) on VHS. Stacked around the stage is my collection of 100+ VHS copies. Photo by Chris Finnigan.
16th February 2019 at Rond Terrace - Kota Yamauchi, Reuben Ingall, Happy Axe. Photos by Adam Thomas.
An excerpt of an improvisation performed by Kota Yamauchi, Happy Axe and myself, on 16th February 2019. Video by David Boughey.
Kota Yamauchi visits us from Kyoto, where he records music in sentos and performs shimmering improvised soundscapes with his guitar and many pedals. He will be appearing on Rond Terrace under the Canberra summer sunset with two like minds, Reuben Ingall and Happy Axe. You will hear sets from each artist, culminating in an improvisation with all three performers. Come and sit with them by a large body of water and let the physical word seep into your eyes and ears. Bring a picnic rug and a picnic to have on it. 7pm Saturday 16th February 2019.
