Love never dies a natural death. It dies because we don’t know how to replenish its source. It dies of blindness and errors and betrayals. It dies of illness and wounds; it dies of weariness, of withering, of tarnishing. Love is that condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own. People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that’s what everyone wants but a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who can bring you to your own attention.
When it comes to relationships, remaining faithful is never an option but a priority. Loyalty is everything. Everybody wants a loyal, consistency and specifically somebody who won’t quit. But everybody forgets that to get that person, you have to be that person. Being faithful in small things is where a person’s strength lies. Hold faithfulness and sincerity as first principles. One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.
I Believe, if you truly love someone, you will do whatever it takes for both of you to last forever. You will learn to be more patient, caring, understanding, trustworthy, faithful, forgiving and tolerant. Just trust your heart with your mind. The greatest gift you can give the one you have chosen to love is emotional fidelity- because without it nothing else in the relationship means anything. And if you spend your time hoping someone will suffer the consequences for what they did to your heart, then you’re allowing them to hurt you a second time in your mind.
There is a deep disappointment where there is injustice to deep love. “Some people don’t understand the promises they’re making when they make them” I said, to which somebody replied, “Right, of course. But you keep the promise anyway. That’s what love is. Love is keeping the promise anyway.
