Let’s face it, God’s will can be tough to accept sometimes.
We want what’s comfortable, predictable, and easy. We want to know what’s going to happen, how, and why. But that’s not often what God’s will for us is.
God’s will is wild, unpredictable, and often times hard to experience. Gods will desires us to forego our need for comfortability and our reliance our foreknowledge. Instead, God desires for us to be totally and utterly dependent on Him. Our only need is God, and if we have Him, then we have all that we need.
And that’s hard to accept.
God doesn’t just want to move into our lives, He wants to be the very center of it; our very reason for getting up in the morning (the same way that the love for your spouse or children is what gets you up in the morning). He wants to be the very reason why we do what we do in our day to day lives, even down the most minute details (anything that isn’t sinful anyways).
And that’s not even including all the curveballs life could throw our way. Our livelihoods could be destroyed, our spouses could leave us, and our friends could abandon us, all in one day.
God never promised that His will would be easy to accept. But He did promise that He would give us peace while in the midst of it.
God knows that His will can be tough, but that’s because He needs tough soldiers in His army. God isn’t looking for someone who’s there only for the good days and then leaves when the going gets tough. He’s looking for those who are committed to Him to the very end. He’s looking for an “I do”, nothing something casual.
And because God is looking for a committed relationship, we can rest in knowing that everything He does He does out of His love for us. Just as a parent does everything they can for the betterment of their child, God does what He can for our benefit.
God desires to bless us, but often times that blessing resides on the other side of a painful circumstance. This is why we must exercise our faith in our walk with Christ. When we trust in His character, we can have peace in knowing that God is in control, and He will work everything out for our good (Romans 8:28, Genesis 50:20).
What God intends to bring out of His will will help us become better and more faithful servants. It’ll help us let go of relying on our own, fragile strength, and help us start relying on His, endless strength. Going through these trips will help us cease striving, and know that He is God.
God’s will can be a tough pill to swallow, but it’s the medicine that’ll sustain our souls for all eternity.
God’s bless, Jesus loves you ✝️❤️
