I worked out this morning before heading into work, even though I knew I wanted to sleep, I also knew I wouldn't want to workout after working all morning. I was right about not wanting to workout after work, and it was so worth getting my 27 minute workout in this morning. Happy Friday night, we made it through another week! Budgets #2

I’m good.  No, really I’m good.  I am fighting these urges and discomforts pretty well.  As long as I don’t dwell on them too long.  I am facing these challenges and feel capable...mostly.

Choices:

I had $100, really $25, the other $75 was supposed to be my reward money.  However, I was informed that I wouldn’t be receiving any funds for the week.  None for food, clothing, household supplies, all my envelopes.  I was immediately frustrated.  Bad decisions are complicating our plans.  I felt the itch to blow it all, to go and make myself feel good and forget my troubles.  I know that sounds so idiotic and childish but that has been me from time to time.  

I soon calmed down and began to figure out how to solve the problem.  I thought it was important to continue my envelopes.  Of course I couldn’t fill them all up, I would need $355.  So I decided to do the following:  donation, savings, house and a very small amount on food.  

It’s a very small amount going to savings.  I wanted to keep my momentum going.  

We need toilet paper and dish soap no doubt so house had to stay.

Grateful to the way I food shop and the current sales, I could spend less than $25 on food four our family of 8.

The donation is a new thing really. Giving to God is always the first to go on my budget normally.  I know that sounds horrible doesn’t it.  My budget is so small, I just never feel like I have enough for necessities or I feel as if the measly amount of money I could afford to give doesn’t really matter.  But I have been convicted that this is important.  So it remained in the budget.

I was left with $1.  I won’t be taking my kids to Star Wars tomorrow.  But I will sleep better knowing I made good decisions that will keep us afloat for the week and beyond.
