The goal of the HPI Wiki was always to provide detailed and nuanced information, not just about the potential issues with certain terms, but also about the genuine good-faith reasons people use them. We wanted to create a resource that acknowledged complexity rather than reducing terms to a binary of "good" or "bad." It was always the intention for pages to explore how certain terms may relate to serious topics while also being used as a form of positive self-expression.
However, since the Wiki launched, neither of the two main moderators have had the time or energy to add this level of detail. In particular, we had hoped the Wiki would include nuanced discussions on terms like endel and others relating to delusions and things that can easily be harmful, but due to time constraints, that never happened.
Beyond the lack of detailed content, there are still significant missing components (the main page, rules, and templates) Because of this, the Wiki may unintentionally give the impression that any term listed on it is entirely free of issues, which was never our intent. A few larger coining blogs have pointed this out in their own posts, and while it was never our goal to present this way, I completely understand why it may come across like that. I regret taking on a project of this scale at a time when I wasn’t able to give it the attention it truly required. I've never ran a site before, so I didn't understand what it would need.
The reality is that, right now, our personal lives don’t allow for the level of commitment this project demands. We don’t know when or if that will change, and we don’t want to leave an unfinished and potentially misleading resource up in the meantime. Because of this, we are seriously considering shutting down the Wiki or making it private until we can reassess. We will be discussing this further in the Discord server.
I also want to acknowledge that I'm very disappointed in how one of our facets (who I'm just going to call HistoryInclusionist since it doesn't have a proper name) responded to a comment about the word "transabled." and We initially apologized, I later deleted that apology. We’ve since removed its access to the blog and are keeping an eye on it. I'm really sorry if that event made people feel like they couldn't directly contact anyone on the Wiki to give criticism.
