Things I've Witnessed During My Trip, Ranked
We went on a college mission trip with our friend group this week. People of all ages and backgrounds were there and it did not disappoint. Here are some of the highlights:
Two girls attempting to hide their make out session from youth group leader by faking a prayer circle- 10/10; creative attempt and entertaining to watch. It was a somewhat poor acting job- we all knew, ladies- but yay for gay!
Kid who jumped out a second story window to impress her camp crush- 1/10; she was okay, but she got sent home because liability reasons (and MAJOR attitude).
MULTIPLE people changing clothes in front of their window with the blinds open- 2/10; I'm genuinely hoping they just weren't thinking, but just...*why*?
Random dude frantically running barefoot and shirtless through campus with a bulletproof vest and a speedo getting tackled by security- 5/10; I have so many unanswered questions.
So. Many. Crying. Teenagers.- 8/10; I'm all for freely expressing emotions and everything, and camp can be a very emotionally moving experience, I just felt like they all needed hugs.
Messy dorms with open doors- 3/10; if you're old enough to be trusted to independently navigate college, you should really know how to pick up your dirty laundry and lock your door. These were ALL adults.
Horrible woman screaming at little kids for being in the hall at night- 0/10; honestly, it's a kids' camp. If you need eight hours of perfect sleep to behave yourself, don't go there. Nobody is making you. Also, that's the kind of behavior that gives the rest of us a bad name. That is the opposite of Christ like love. (She was reported and the situation was handled, don't worry!)
Kids enjoying worship services and camp activities- 100/10; it was awesome to see so many kids coming to Christ and thriving in such an accepting environment.
In spite of all the drama, the highs and lows came together to create a beautiful experience. I had so much fun and it was a really good time.
