Food for thought...
Buddhist monks must not be referred to as Priests (poojaka). They are Followers (anugamika). They have undertaken a life of celibacy and abstinence to teach the good teachings of Lord Buddha.
Religions have priests but Buddhism is not a religion. It's a philosophy.
I may have no right to say this. Because I'm a born Christian. But I did not choose to be born a Christian. We were born in to the religion of our clan but we can choose what we follow.
If you are a good human, helping others anyway you can, abstaining from wrong and spreading love, you are a Buddhist. You can be a Christian, a Hindu or a Muslim or even an Atheist and still be a good Buddhist.
Because Buddhism is not a religion. It's a philosophy.
