EVERYONE SIT DOWN AND LISTEN UP because i’m going to tell you about my best friend in the star wars roleplay community. i still have our first interaction saved. ally made a post one morning about how leia wanted to kiss pretty girls and of course, because i had been stalking the jyn tag for days, i had already seen the jynleia ship around and had fallen in love. i liked the post. i thought it would show casual interest in the concept and of course, because i’m one of the most socially awkward people in the universe, i didn’t dare make a direct approach when we had never interacted before.
mind you, i had only recently started following ally and her leia. i really liked what i saw, but i was too shy to say anything —— so after i liked that post, ally sent me an enthusiastic im and the rest is history. a modern - day love story, what have you. i was still my awkward self but she was patient and sweet and overwhelmingly supportive, and making a connection so early into writing jyn made it even more exciting.
and how amazing is ally? i mean, you think you love leia organa. ally takes on everything about her with a passion, unabashedly critiques the toxic aspects of her character and timeline, and brings the best parts to light in the most spectacular way. she writes snappy dialogue, heartbreaking angst, and a special brand of fluff that you might as well label lethal to mona. she’s an incredible source of life and enthusiasm for every muse, ship, verse, and thread she takes on, and she approaches everything in such a way that you can’t help but get involved. and if i had a nickel for every time we stayed up late crying about leia on skype, i’d buy us both a vacation to a galaxy far, far away.
of course, i can’t write about ally without writing about what brought us together in the first place: our ship. jyn and leia, our rebel girls, who have most definitely kissed and are hopelessly, messily in love. talking to ally always inspires me and her presence on my dash is enough to get me emotional over these two ladies, and i’ve just never had such an intricate relationship built between muses like this? and with ally it’s so natural. she is an instigator of wonderful ideas and an inspiration to me 24/7 and without her, i’m not sure what this blog would be.
i pressured her into sending in her url so i could talk about her but ally, you are fantastic, really. and to anyone and everyone in the community: this leia has my highest recommendations and all of my love. please follow ally. your experience won’t be complete without her. ♥
