When did Harold and Bertie start dating was it during mistletoe and murder before or after
Slightly before I think! They’re lowkey dating during it.

and what
spoilers ahead
like pretty major spoilers
nothing about the actual murder though
i'm gonna post about this stuff so much
I headcanon that once Alexander moves in with Hazel and if George and Ralph break up, George gets lonely (although he will never admit this) so just turns up at someone's flat (Hazel and Alexander, Daisy and Amina, Bertie and Harold etc.) like a posh, fashionable cat for food and attention. Alexander thinks its quite funny because it backs up his point that George is like a cat but also feels quite guilty for moving out. No one generally minds, except for when they're trying to spend some quality time together and George just turns up like 'Ooh good choice I love this film, now give me food'.

Okay so I've decided to make a list of all the songs I associate with mmu and why. Why not a playlist? You ask. Because, for some reason, my brain is appalled by the concept of making a playlist right now but A-Okay with this. And also because I know when I love something I need song anthems for it and I want to hopefully provide some for others like me. So without further ado, here we go:
Starting with one I think a lot of us would agree on already: Strawberry Blonde by Mitski. Halex vibes from end to end.
Abbey-Mitski: It gives me Hazel vibes but I'm not quite sure why and where from.
Lotta True Crime-Penelope Scott: immaculate Daisy vibes, must I say any more? Also kinda George vibes.
Another Halex one because I have issues: Its Like Your Always On My Mind by Pomplamoose. If Strawberry Blonde is Halex from Hazels pov, this bad boy is Alex's later pov.
Brutus by the Buttresses: this one is ASoM June Wong for me. Jealous, vindictive, conflicted and foolish.
Digital Silence by PeterMcPoland: George's pessimistic view of humanity who?
Moon Waltz by Cojum Dip: literally just fits the entire series, manic chaos mixed in with numbed calm.
Willard! By Will Wood: This is such a Beanie song to me. Her and Chutney fr fr.
Fish in a Birdcage by Fish in a Birdcage: again, Hazel and Daisy core.
Suburbia Overture by Will Wood: Honestly could either be for the Wells or Wong families, or even just Deapdeen as a whole. So dysfunctional, so desprate for life to go back to normal.
Love, me Normally by Will Wood: honestly any of the main four. They're so fucking neurodivergent it's unreal.
The Dumb Song by AJR: So Alexander core.
Adventure is Out There by AJR: This reads Mei Wong in all directions, but could probably be also used for Daisy too.
Mr Blue Sky by Electric Light Orchestra: honestly the whole of MOUA.
Harvey by Hers (an addition by natqwp): gave it a listen and oh my lord is it a Halex song.
Crybaby by Melanie Martinez (an addition by mmufanatic): They described it as an Alexander song and I couldn't agree more. Can't believe I haven't thought of this before.
I Am Not A Robot by Marina and the Diamonds (an addition by deapdeanvsweston): Oh I agree 100% on the fact that it's a Daisy and Bertie song. Poor babies always had to have their walls up. Damn it's like those books are trying to make me cry.
Townie by Mitski (an addition by mmufanatic):Just gave it a listen and I get it completely as a George song. There is just something there. He'd totally be obsessed with Mitski.
Hungover in the City of Dust by Autoheart (an addition by deapdeanvsweston): See cause on my first read I didn't click that those two were dating (I'm thick as mud, I know) but as soon as I figured it out I wanted to sob. Poor Bertie. Its okay though, he's got Harold now. On the song I, unsurprisingly, agree. It's so damn mournful. Bertie breakup ukulele cover when?
And to add to it all, Infinitesimal by Mother Mother: Its perfect for so many reasons, and I see it in my deranged character head animatics (if only I could animate) as the Detective Society Song™️. Damn and that end bit? Make that either Hazel yelling at her Ah Mah or a shot with Daisy when Hazels just beginning to get more confident and you have my heart.
Sorry for the long meandering list. Feel free to add any you want, I'd die for more mmu and moua associated songs.
Harold age 6 meeting stepbrother George age 3 thinking how excited he is to have someone to play with all the time! But they meet and don't bond very well, because Harold wants to play archeologists, and all George wants to do, which involves nobody else, is line up his toy cars in colour, then in size, then in weight, then in- you get the picture.
Eventually Harold figures out how to play with him - Harold buries the family's crockery in the garden, then pretends he's at an archeological digsite. George gets to be the curator (he's excited about being a word he hasn't heard before!) and categorises the plates Harold digs up.
Their parents are so delighted they're playing together they can (almost) ignore the fact their crockery is being buried in the herb garden.
How to tell a fandom is small and supportive:
There are more comments on a multi-chapter fic than kudos.
There are 19 kudos.
I just finished BITB and it was sooooooo good. I loved how everyone from the old gang was there (except kitty? What happened to kitty?) and how even inspector Priestley turned up.
I accually cried when Amina turned up though, and I'm not sure why but it just made me so happy that the MMU group were back together
