CRUISING IN CARS EPISODE 3

I met Kevin Fennell, owner of a Lotus Exige, at cars & coffee San Antonio.  The Lotus Exige is a car you rarely see, let alone on the road as they weren’t inherently road legal when they began bringing the Lotus Elise (for which it is based off of) into the United States.

I gave my card to Kevin hoping to hear back from him.  Sure enough he not only was interested, but he offered to have us meet at Harris Hill Road raceway, a central Texas road racing track club. 

A friend Kenneth Reed was nice enough to bring his 2003 Porsche 996 (Which will be featured soon!) for us to use as a “chase” car. 

Kevin Fennell’s enthusiasm for his Lotus Exige was intoxicating.  I could tell he had tested many cars and had been on a journey to find something that fit his personality, a Canadian turned Texan.  His Lotus Exige has been modified to make around 350rwhp and weights a scant 2100bls.  Riding with Kevin in the Lotus Exige was a treat and something that will stay with me for a life time.  It’s great to meet people like Kevin and the other drivers I have met who have a universal passion for automobiles and driving them.

Developing this series has been a learning process.  I have received some great feedback over the past couples week, so keep an eye out as the episodes production value should rise over time.
