Louis, recently voted Best Male in a PowerUK poll, is out there earning the title! We got to see the extravagant gift basket of presents (topped with a shiny rainbow bow and a sweet personal note) he sent to makeawish fan Harrysson, and he joined (also very successful) old school pal Dave Allen in encouraging kids getting GCSE results today to remember that the two of them were cruelly told (by the man who must surely be the most hated geography teacher of all time) that they would never amount to anything, Louis taking the extra step of calling "that grumpy fucker" out by name. Among the thoughtful gifts he sent Harrysson were, because he remembered him mentioning that he was afraid of the dark the one time they met, pajamas with glow in the dark stars on them and a nightlight. He truly will be the most amazing father when he has kids of his own someday! CapitalFM also commented how lovely his gifts were, possibly in a frantic backpedal after posting some crap trying to make fun of him yesterday that did not go over well. Never a good idea buddies, the louies'll go for blood... Anyway all that is amazing but also! He tweeted about Madrid! And about playing new music there!! He said, "Madrid is going to be massive!" and that he's "gonna be playing some new songs.... Exciting!" Umm yes that IS exciting as fuck! Just a few more weeks now! SonyUK retweeted the new songs tweet.
Harry showed up in pictures from rehearsals for a play in Manchester- it looks like he was visiting producer/songwriter Max Martin (the play, '&Juliet', is a musical based on Martin's songs.) So the big question is, is Martin just a random industry acquaintance of Harry's, or have they been working together? Martin is known for the poppiest of pop music, writing hits for artists from the Backstreet Boys to Britney Spears to Ariana Grande (and a lot more.)
A picture of Harry with retired footballer Patrice Evra was posted today: it was clearly taken on the same day and in the same place as a pic of Harry posted by Patrice Evra's best friend, youth footie coach Tshimen Buhanga on the 17th. Harry looks thrilled at meeting both of them! Some are wondering if he went to the home game in Manchester on the 11th on his way back from Scotland, others feel that that doesn't make sense for various reasons such as train maps, the football friends' locations, and weather on the days in question. Attention to detail worthy of Sherlock Holmes himself, truly, but the truth remains a mystery. It doesn't look likely, but what the heck let's hope he was there as it was evidently an exciting match- you'll recall that Louis tweeted about it all the way from LA.
Niall was told by a waiter that he "looked just like that guy from Downton Abbey"; the guy from Downton Abbey suggested a DNA test but we all know these boys prefer to just wing it, so that probably won't be happening. Liam took a fan pic in Ibiza.

Liam's show tonight has, sadly, been cancelled. The event organizers say they had to cancel the outdoor event due to rain; Liam posted a little video message about the cancellation. He also liked a tweet pointing out that despite the cancellation a lot of money was raised by the VIP ticket contest probably and boy they are not wrong, how many entries do those same few people have to buy to every time to ensure that they win every. single. one. of these contests? Well, the charities involved win anyway.
John Urbano continues to post bts pics from the Gotta Be You video shoot of the boys looking pretty in the woods- today there's a perfect vintage Zayn pic of him looking sceptical as hell.
Niall is still out there doing the golf, apparently the Modest folks are doing well, so Niall says.
And makeawish kid Harrysson, who you may remember eating fish sticks with Louis at the X Factor last fall, has been extremely ill and his mother has been asking for help contacting Louis and begging him to contact her sick boy again for a while now. Today Louis reached out through makeawish, truly living the "make someone happy today" ethos; the mom is over the moon and I can only assume Harrysson, who loves Louis so so much, is too.
Today is Fizzy's birthday. I hope some of the good that Louis and his family put into the world comes back to them today and comforts them.

The Louis hype machine continues to be active and keep him popping up in the news and our feeds, just exactly what should be happening prior to his single release! Fantastic! Today we got firstly, the most exciting of announcements, A PERFORMANCE! Louis will perform at the Comic Relief show Mar 15 and it will be broadcast and he will, I'm sure, perform Two Of Us, there could be a piano, there's a lot of excitement to come very soon y'all. I mean I'm already excited now but it's gonna ACTUALLY HAPPEN hot damn you guys!
Also Variety published an article about how Louis was selling his Calabasas mansion after knocking a million off the asking price. Hmm you may think, that's a strange and random coincidence, isn't Liam also selling a Calabasas mansion after knocking a million off the asking price? Why YES in fact it's the SAME HOUSE (Liam's). Louis himself popped up on twitter to comment- "not my house mate"- and the article was removed. You say a guy owns his bandmate's house to obscure the fact that he actually shares a house with his boyfriend ONE TIME and years down the road the papers still think it's his, unbelievable! Wow, it's almost like once you dig a hole of lies you're stuck with them until you publicly do something about it... anything you want to get off your chest, team Louis? Anyway speaking of Louis and children the mom of Harrysson, the sick child who got to hang out with Louis at TXF, posted an unseen of the two of them and it's the cutest! Louis is sitting down on the floor with him and they are splitting a sandwich.
Meanwhile Liam was once again photographed with fans while on his morning run in London (imagine looking that good while running? it's just not realistic) causing some concern that people are tracking his routines and bothering him, Niall spoke for us all last night with a tweet that said simply "Olivia Coleman" with some hearts and then today was very efficient and on brand, liking one (1) golf post, one (1) Elton John post, and one (1) Julia Michaels post, and rumor has it that it was confirmed that Harry flew into London from L.A. yesterday which is not exactly what I call #confirmation but since that was always pretty sure anyway, fine.

The predicted Louis ski holiday picture that was foreshadowed by the Geneva airport photos has manifested on Eleanor's Instagram, which they got all warmed up and ready to go for this with her random post last week, as is often the case. Anyway it's a close cropped picture of her and Louis (who is not tagged) in ski gear, and let's hope it's really working for the general public cause wow a lot of the fandom is PISSED OFF, citing this business as usual approach at a time when they were hoping instead for changes and music. People are mad at management, mad at Sony, mad at fans who aren't mad, and some are even mad at Louis. On the other side you have fans who don't particularly care about the photo, on the grounds that it's just business as usual and irrelevant to the main point of interest- music release.
If you, like many, find seeing them together distressing, just take comfort in how laughably fake it all is. Like, you can clearly see in the reflection in their glasses that she's holding a phone out in front of her, but the screen is dark which maaaaybe she's taking the picture blind from the back of her phone or something (can you use the side keys for camera shutter on the newer iPhones?) but like. Probably not. And, did you know that on this exact date in 2014 they posted almost the exact same picture? Anyway you can believe he went skiing with Eleanor or you can believe he secretly spent Freddie's birthday with him, but you can't have both! A true conundrum, I'll go with neither.
MOVING ON, we got an unseen picture of Louis with Harrysson, a child who you may remember as having been photographed with Louis and a truly massive bowl of fishsticks backstage at the X Factor as his MakeAWish wish. His mother is trying to reach Louis because Harrysson has been asking for him; she tweeted the picture with a plea for help reaching Louis.
We got another unseen of Harry at that children's birthday party and learned that he personally handed out gifts to all the kids present which is inspiring way less squeeing than I would have expected, does the cardigan really bother y'all that much? Well that's fine, we got Niall squeeing plenty, about golf, giving us a level of enthusiasm and emoji use more often seen by young women @ boybands, which was charming enough to bypass even my usual golf related narcolepsy.
Liam posted from a Davido concert- honestly I will never get over how far away from the stage VIP boxes always are! It just doesn't seem that great to me but I wouldn't know I guess. Icarus Falls passed 400 million streams on spotify and inzayn continued to lobby heavily for votes for the iheartradio award.
Matt Colon, unfortunately named manager of Steve Aoki, liked a tweet suggesting that he would be a better manager for Louis than L's actual team. He was an active promoter of both Steve and Louis as individuals during and after Just Hold On promo and retains much fandom goodwill, but is this just a grass is greener situation? Would he be able to do better with whatever the current situation is? If I, an updater, could make a wish for Louis' management it would be good promo by someone who wasn't named fucking Matt for a change! Please, it's confusing :(
And in what would be some real news if I thought it was, in fact, real news, someone got Harry's face tattooed ON THEIR FACE! Happily, this terrible idea appears to be merely a publicity grab by an aspiring musician. She should have put it on her pretty neck anyway! Think it through next time, a real harrie would have gone for the cheap joke. In the unlikely event that this is an actual thing that happened YIKES and also wow that isn't even a good tattoo DOUBLE YIKES
And finally, fear not, rumors of the bears' phone's demise were greatly exaggerated- you can still text the rainbow bears.

In January of this year, Harrysson’s mom Karly Rogers had posted a message on twitter through one of Louis’ fan update twitter accounts (@ttomlinsondaily) asking for help in getting in touch with Louis. Harrysson, who suffers from an undiagnosed condition, had been doing very poorly. Harrysson’s mom was hoping to bring some joy to Harrysson during that difficult moment by getting Louis to communicate with her son.

August 27th, 2019: It’s #CharityTuesday and we want to remind you about the Make A Wish Foundation and all the times One Direction supported this charity as a band and solo artists. Louis Tomlinson recently reached out to 5 years old Harrysson and sent him gifts and a beautiful note through this charity (article here).
The Make A Wish Foundation grants wishes to seriously and terminally ill children. They are founded in the belief that a child with a life threatening condition should have more than illnesses, hospitals, and treatments facing them each day.
