Y’all, can you believe this?A previously unreleased track by the legendary Tina Turner has finally been rediscovered and shared with the world! I’m talkin’ about Hot for You Baby, which was thought to be lost to time. But now, thanks to her record company, it's been unearthed from the vaults, and we’re getting a little piece of that queen’s magic we didn’t even know we needed. This previously unreleased track by legendary Tina Turner was actually meant to be part of her iconic Private Dancer album from 1984—yep, the album that gave us classics like “What’s Love Got to Do With It” and “Let’s Stay Together.” But for some reason, Hot for You Baby didn’t make the cut and got left behind in the archives. That is, until Capitol Records found it while prepping for the 40th anniversary edition of Private Dancer. It was played for the first time this past Thursday on the BBC’s Radio 2 breakfast show, and it’s set to drop on the anniversary album March 21.Now, I gotta say, I’m excited but also mixed on the reviews. Some folks are saying the track doesn’t hit the mark like some of Tina’s other work, calling it a little “cheesy” or “one-dimensional.” But let me tell you, hearing that voice again—that roar—it’s enough to make you feel like she’s still here with us, blessing us with her fire.Written by George Young and Harry Vanda, and produced by John Carter, the song had been previously recorded by John Paul Young, but it didn’t really take off. As for Tina’s version? It’s a reminder of her power, even if it didn’t make it on the original album. Sometimes, I think we forget just how much Tina reinvented herself, rising from everything she went through and serving us greatness over and over. Private Dancer was the ultimate comeback, and it set the stage for her to cement that legendary status we all adore.I’m just happy to have any new (old) Tina music in my life. I know not everyone feels the same about the song, but that voice? That raw, powerful energy? Ain’t nothing like it. There’s no one who can do it like Tina. I’ll be blasting this track on repeat until I’ve learned every word.Let’s show this rediscovered gem some love! 🙌https://www.youtube.com/embed/oGpFcHTxjZs Read the full article
