Casper the Friendly Ghost Headcanons:
I used to watch Casper when I was little and I also watched the 1995 movie...he's such a sweetheart! Fans of Casper, I hope you like my headcanons for this friendly ghost!
-Casper is every bit as kindhearted and personable as he is on the screen. He’s known as perhaps the most friendly and forgiving of the classic toons in Toontown, even towards humans (who he often tries to acclimate to Toontown’s chaotic nature should they happen to visit).
-One of Casper’s biggest faults is that he’s VERY dependent on others. He will do ANYTHING he can to avoid being alone if possible (as he hates being alone in any capacity). And sometimes, that means he can accidentally step in a few people's personal space (though he's trying not to do this as much)
-Another fault of Casper is that occasionally, he can be a bit emotionally needy. He has problems self soothing himself, especially when deeply saddened, and can often require external validation to keep himself going. Thankfully, the HarveyToons and other fellow Toons know he’s not doing it to be a pain and are happy to give him the reassurance he needs (in their own way of course).
-A habit that Casper has is that he says “thank you” to inanimate objects, gags, and props after using them…to him, it feels wrong not acknowledging the work appliances put into making Toon lives more comfortable. However, he often does it WAY too much, to the point a few Toons are noticeably annoyed or uncomfortable with it.
-Casper’s biggest pet peeve is bigotry and close-mindedness. He fully believes everyone is equal to each other and doesn’t understand the reasons people would shut themselves out to getting to know others based on silly claims of superiority.
-Casper ADORES nicknames! Not only does he like being nicknamed himself, he’s often nicknaming his friends all sorts of things. He really likes giving out flower and spring based nicknames (being that spring is his favorite season).
-Casper is very good at shadow puppetry! Being a Toon ghost, he can exaggerate and distort his fingers and shape better than other Toons to create all sorts of different shadow shapes.
-Casper’s been asked if he can possess people, being that Casper can possess objects (as even though he’s a Toon, Casper is still a ghost). Even if he wanted to, the truth is that honestly, he can’t. The creators foresaw the problem with potential possession and wrote it so that Casper couldn’t do it. His uncles (the Ghostly Trio) can’t possess people either.
-Casper was the one who made up his backstory for the 1995 film starring him. Pneumonia was the one of the scariest things to him in the 1950s (even though he’s a Toon and Toons can’t get sick from human disease) so he thought having himself dying from it would conquer his fear of the sickness.
-While many of his shorts focus on character driven stories, Casper himself has a preference for plot-driven stories. It’s why his movie had an overarching plot rather than just a character based story like normal.
-Casper has a fondness for cozy mysteries. He loves the homey vibe that they give and often searches for his own clues to draw his own conclusions. In general, Casper prefers cozy mystery novels rather than television/movies, as he feels that movies make the clues “too obvious.”
-Casper is also a lover of collecting coins, specifically quarters. He has all sorts of quarters from different eras.
-Casper is a BIG cuddler! When with someone he likes, he’ll often wrap his body or his spectral tail around them (of course, being the friendly ghost he is, he ALWAYS asks for permission).
-Casper is GREAT friends with the Harveytoon Girls (Little Audrey, Little Lotta, and Little Dot). They absolutely adore him and often include Casper in their activities. He's probably closest to Audrey because of how imaginative she is.
-Casper considers Danny Phantom (from the Nickelodeon series Danny Phantom) to be one of his best friends. Being fellow ghosts, they often like to do what others would consider “ghostly” activities together (not haunting though). Danny freely admits that Casper is one of his favorite people in the Toon world.
-Being that the HarveyToons are Famous Studios' successor to Fleischer Studios, Casper is VERY close to Betty Boop! He sees her as a big sister/mentor figure. Betty, on the other hand, absolutely ADORES Casper and gives him all sorts of tips and tricks.
-Casper gets along well with other mascots due to his friendliness and open hearted nature. Even Bugs Bunny can’t help but lower his guard a bit around Casper.
-Casper himself is AroAce! All the times he displayed attraction in movies and other productions was purely acting. He generally prefers strong, platonic bonds over romance.

Casper the Friendly Ghost thinking about Wendy the Good Little Witch - The New Casper Cartoon Show (1963)
Jaune: So, I hear you're looking for a real, genuine ghost to live in your mansion?
Willow: (Sneers) Now don't tell me you're a ghost!
Jaune: No, no, of course not!
Jaune: (Puts gun to head) But it could be arranged~!
Willow: EEK! (Runs into bedroom)
Out of Gas “Paramount Animated Comics #8” (1954)
Went for a more obscure pull this time. It's Baby Hughes Duck, or Baby Huey for short. Most of the old Famous Studios / Harveytoons characters have gone the way of Mighty Mouse or Farmer Al Falfa in faded public consciousness but if a cartoon series' formula works, it works.
