The ’30s cloche also became known as the Garbo slouch hat. It was designed by Gilbert Adrian and worn by Greta Garbo in Woman of Affair, 1928.

Slouches and sportsters were a Garbo favorite hat style outside of the theater as well. Prior to her acting career, she had worked as a milliner’s assistant. She understood the artistry in hat making, but also the gentlemanly poise it took to wear a men’s hat style with grace.

Capstone Fiber Arts Survey

Hey guys, a friend of a friend is doing a Fiber Arts survey for her capstone, and it would be a huge help if those of you who do any kind of fiber/textile art could take this survey and also spread it to anybody you know who is currently or was previously involved with textile arts, from your sister who makes subversive cross stitch to your great grandpa who took up knitting when he served in the Marines.

The capstone project is on the Importance of Fiber Arts to Female Socialization in Patriarchal Societies. She is looking to gather the data on the 21st century fiber artists to see how current fiber artists are viewed and view themselves.

BONNET OFFICIALLY DONE!!! loving how it looks with the dresses, i feel like the belt adds an extra 1830s touch to the outfit which is appropriate. though of course historical accuracy wasn't the goal

Update I am absolutely cracked at hat making so my plan to break into the haberdashery scene as a side gig is becoming more realistic this will however affect the amount of the magnus archives fanart I’m able to produce
