Pirate Fact #12: 

When pirates were killed it was tradition to draw a portrait of what the pirate would look like 100 years after he died. There were two rules: 

1) Only draw the head

2) Draw the pirate’s favorite possession on his head to look like a hat. 

This beautiful drawing shows a late pirate who’s favorite possession was his pirate ship!
