Hi! I have a question about small town rumours - does Robin know where Steve is and vice versa?
I love this take and keep going back to read it and every time I do I think about if Robin is being hidden away too and how they were convinced they should be separated in the aftermath.
I had to go look at my own notes lol--
Robin has been informed (by Hopper so you can imagine how that conversation went) that Steve was attacked and is now in hiding. Hop's orders are that she and everyone else is not allowed to contact Steve for all of their combined safety.
Hopper is also attempting to convince her family at large to lay low/take a vacation for a while while he and Owens clean house, without much success.
Steve was attacked a few weeks after Starcourt. The group that attacked him waited for things to settle before they struck, letting everyone think things were over. Hopper believes they went after Steve because he's an easy target, and while Hopper is under the impression they're killing the kids, it's far more likely they want information first before disposing them (with Steve's strangulation attempt being a hail mary to subdue him.)
Robin is very much in danger herself, but between Hopper, Robin's paranoia and Nancy involving herself and as much press she can muster ('Small town heroes named in mallfire!" type of shit) they've managed to make themselves harder targets.
